INSTRUCTIONS MODE D EMPLOI SLIM D HERMÈS QUANTIÈME PERPÉTUEL

LA MONTRE HERMÈS S.A., CASE POSTALE 736 2501 BIENNE / SUISSE TEL. +41 (0)32 366 71 00

YOUR SLIM D HERMÈS QUANTIÈME PERPÉTUEL WATCH Your Slim d Hermès Quantième Perpétuel (Perpetual Calendar) watch is equipped with a me - chanical self-winding movement. It has been subjected to all quality tests before leaving the workshops of La Montre Hermès in Bienne, Switzerland. The Perpetual Calendar movement Made in Switzerland. Manufacture Hermès H1950 ultra-thin self-winding calibre. Equipped with a micro-rotor, 2.6 mm thick, 21,600 vph, 42-hour power reserve, handchamfered bridges. Perpetual Calendar module developed by Agenhor for Hermès. 1.4 mm thick. Functions: hours, minutes, perpetual calendar (date, month, year), moon phase, second time zone, day/night indication. 4 The power reserve corresponds to the time the watch can run on its own energy reserves without any external supply. The movement will thus not require any manual winding unless you stop wearing your watch for more than 42 hours. The perpetual calendar function serves to display the date and the month while taking account of months with 28, 29, 30 and 31 days. The month jump requires no date correction, including during leap years. The Gregorian calendar nonetheless features one particularity, since the century years are only leap years if they are divisible by 400. This means 2000 was a leap year, whereas 2100 will not be. The perpetual calendar mechanism is adjusted to a fouryear cycle, meaning 1,461 days. It will not be able to take account of this exception and will thus require a manual correction in 2100.

Moon phases Your Slim d Hermès Quantième Perpétuel (Perpetual Calendar) watch also serves to display the moon phases, of which there are four, each lasting a week and called first quarter, full moon, last quarter and new moon the latter heralding the end of one complete lunar cycle and the begining of the next one. The first quarter, which corresponds to the waxing moon, appears seven days after the start of the lunar cycle in the form of a crescent shaped like a D in the Northern Hemisphere and like a C in the Southern Hemisphere. Seven days later, the moon is entirely visible from earth and is called a full moon. Another seven days, and the last quarter appears, in the form of a crescent shaped like a C in the Northern Hemisphere and a D in the Southern Hemisphere. At this stage the moon is in its waning phase. Finally, after seven more days, the moon disappears into the shadow of the earth and this phase is referred to as the new moon. 5

The metals used 316L steel: a stainless alloy. 750 gold: an alloy composed of 75% pure gold, silver, copper or palladium in variable proportions according to its colour (yellow gold, rose gold or white gold). 950 platinum: alloy composed of 95% platinum and 5% ruthenium. Diamonds Whatever their shape, they are of Top Wesselton V.V.S. clarity and F/G colour, apart from brown diamonds. Driven by a constant concern to guarantee its ethical, social and environmental commitment, Hermès helps improve the practises of all actors in the supply chain and commits to promoting them among its business partners, particularly through its membership of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC). 6

Watch glass Scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-glare treatment. Water resistance Water resistance tested to 3 bar. It is important to always push the crown back against the case after any handling in order to guarantee water resistance. The crown, correctors and pushbutton must not be pressed or otherwise handled in contact with water, including splashing. The use of cosmetic products (shampoo, shower gel, soap) when taking a shower or bath may damage the water-resistance gaskets of your watch. It is important not to wear your Hermès watch during such activities. 7

No immersion Splashing Gentle rain Swimming Freediving Scuba diving Windsurfing Diving Surfing Jet-ski Non water-resistant Water-resistant to 3 bar Water-resistant to 5 bar Water-resistant to 10 bar Water-resistant to 20 bar It in any case inadvisable to wear your Hermès watch fitted with a leather strap when you are in contact with water.

RECOMMENDATIONS General recommendations When storing your Slim d Hermès Quantième Perpétuel (Perpetual Calendar) watch, it is preferable to keep it in the original box received at the time of purchase or in a case designed for the purpose. If you own several watches, avoid contact between them to prevent aesthetic damage. Keep your Hermès watch in a well-ventilated place away from moisture and heat. It is strongly advisable to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or bright lighting, since ultra-violet rays may alter the colours on the dial, hands and strap. To wipe off fingerprints or dust on your Hermès watch, use a clean microfibre cloth and never rub too hard. Regular maintenance of the movement As with all precision instruments, the movement of your Slim d Hermès Quantième Perpétuel (Perpetual Calendar) watch must be regularly maintained and inspected in order to for it to perform at its optimum level. Models equipped with a mechanical movement should be serviced at least every three (3) years. Preserving water resistance The water resistance of your watch has been tested in accordance with the Hermès production standards applicable to your model. Its water resistance depends on the hermetically sealed assembly of the case, the crystals, the winding crown, as well as the numerous joints and lugs. 9

If your Slim d Hermès Quantième Perpétuel (Perpetual Calendar) watch is inadvertently immersed in seawater, it should be rapidly wiped with a soft cloth moistened with fresh water and then dried with a soft dry cloth. Magnetism There are an increasing number of magnetic fields present in our environment. These can affect the rate of the movement. We do not recommend that you expose your watch to strong magnetic fields. Such magnetic fields may be of various origins: cellphones and digital tablets, handbags or bracelets with magnetic clasps, refrigerators and microwave ovens, loudspeakers and televisions, hairdryers and electric razors. Physical shocks Your Slim d Hermès Quantième Perpétuel (Perpetual Calendar) watch is an Haute Horlogerie piece. A sudden strong shock caused by the practice of sports such as golf or an accidental fall to the floor or blow to the case may not only spoil the exterior appearance of your Hermès watch, but also damage its mechanism. Certain parts of the mechanism are less than a tenth of a millimetre in diameter. While damage to these parts may not be apparent from an external examination of your Slim d Hermès Quantième Perpétuel (Perpetual Calendar) watch, they may be detrimental to its performance. 10

Thermal shocks The optimal temperature range for your Hermès watch is between 0 to 50 C (32 to 122 F). Prolonged exposure to temperatures below 0 C (32 F) may impair performance (usually a time loss). Prolonged exposure to temperatures above 50 C (122 F) may affect the running of the movement and should therefore be avoided. The patina of leather Hermès wishes to preserve the authenticity and unique feel of its leather straps, which is why the hides used have been given the most natural possible treatment. This means the straps are not excessively protected and thus acquire a regular patina over time, which represents one of the distinctive aesthetic characteristics of Hermès leather products. This extreme respect for quality makes the straps more sensitive to water and to surrounding humidity. Wearing your Slim d Hermès Quantième Perpétuel (Perpetual Calendar) watch fitted with a leather strap for aquatic activities is thus not advisable. 11

INTERNATIONAL WARRANTY Your Slim d Hermès Quantième Perpétuel (Perpetual Calendar) watch has a two (2) year worldwide cover once you receive the international warranty booklet duly filled in, dated and signed by the Hermès store or the authorised retailer on the day of purchase of your Hermès watch. These instructions do not serve as an international warranty. Kindly refer to the international warranty booklet for any additional related information, as well as for details regarding the maintenance of your Hermès watch. If you follow our advice in terms of maintenance and use, we sincerely trust you will always be satisfied with your Hermès watch, and we thank you for your confidence. 12

DISPLAY AND FUNCTIONS Date Local time Local minutes Corrector D : month and year adjustment Corrector A : moon-phase adjustment Year (B=leap year) Moon phases Crown Month Corrector C : date adjustment Pushbutton B : second time-zone adjustment Hour in the second time zone 13 Day/night indicator (local time)

ADJUSTMENTS IMPORTANT Kindly take the following steps to ensure the smooth running of the movement. You are advised not to turn the hours and minutes hands in a counter-clockwise direction. Setting the time as well as adjusting the second time zone may be done at any time. So as not to risk damaging your watch, kindly avoid making any other adjustments to your Slim d Hermès Quantième Perpétuel (Perpetual Calendar) watch between (and including) 9 p.m. and 1 a.m. The day/night indicator is red. Adjusting the year and month is not possible when the date indicates a day between (and including) the 24 th and the 31 st of each month. The crown, correctors and pushbutton should not be pressed or otherwise handled in contact with water, including splashing. In order to avoid scratching the case, use the correcting stylus supplied with your Slim d Hermès Quantième Perpétuel (Perpetual Calendar) watch when pressing the correctors. 14

1. Manual winding Crown in position 1 (initial position) The crown is completely pushed up against the case, i.e. the normal position when the watch is worn. When your watch has stopped, always wind it manually to set it running again, by means of 30 clockwise turns of the crown. It will then be kept wound automatically thanks to your wrist movements. 15

2. Preparing the movement for adjustments Crown in position 2 (fully pulled-out position) The crown is entirely pulled out. The hands stop. Turn the crown counter-clockwise until the date changes (date jump) in order to determine that it is midnight (and not midday). Continue turning the crown counter-clockwise to place the hands at 3 a.m. The day/night indicator is blue. Using the correcting stylus provided, press corrector C at 8 o clock until the date shows the first of the month. You are thus outside the period (between 9 p.m. and 1 a.m. and between the 24 th and the 31 st of the month) when you would run the risk of damaging the movement. 16

3. Adjusting the moon phase Crown in position 2 (fully pulled-out position) Using the correcting stylus provided, press corrector A until the full moon appears in the centre of the aperture. Check the date of the last full moon using the chapter Moon phases and leap years 2015-2024 provided at the end of these instructions. Press corrector A as many times as the number of days that have elapsed since the last full moon (one press corresponds to one day). 17

4. Adjusting the year and the month Crown in position 2 (fully pulled-out position) Determine whether the year in progress is a leap year (signalled by the letter B) or a year 1, 2 or 3 using the chapter Moon phases and leap years 2015-2024 provided at the end of these instructions. Press corrector D as many times as required to adjust the year and the month. 18

5. Adjusting the date Crown in position 2 (fully pulled-out position) Press corrector C as many times as required until the desired date is indicated. 19

6. Setting the time Crown in position 2 (fully pulled-out position) Turn the crown counter-clockwise to reach the desired time. 20

7. Preparing the watch for wear Crown in position 1 (initial position) Push the crown back in to position 1 (operating position). The movement starts and the water resistance is guaranteed. 8. Adjusting the second time zone Crown in position 1 (initial position) Press pushbutton B as many times as required to adjust the second time zone. 21
