AP Physics B Math Competancy Test The following test is designed to allow you, the student, to determine if your math skills are adequate for the AP Physics B course offered by PHC Prep Academy. Be aware that this course is NOT calculus based. Thus, your math skills need to include Algebra, Geometry and some simple Trigonometry, applied to right angle triangles. Please take this exam in any way you wish. Just make sure that YOU take the test! If you would like to have access to old textbooks to remind you of math concepts, feel free to use them. My only caution is to make sure you are NOT teaching yourself new material. It is fine to remind yourself of material you have previously learned and are just refreshing your memory. It is not fine to teach yourself new material. Remember, the purpose of this test is to determine if you are READY for this course before signing up for it. If you find that this material is substantially unfamiliar to you, then you should probably do some math refresher course work before signing up for AP Physics. This course will move very rapidly and if you struggle with the mathematics you will find it impossible to keep up with the many physics concepts presented. Do yourself a favor and firm up your math foundation before attempting this course if you get a score of less than 80% on this pre-test. The test should not take more than 4 hours MAX. ) A 5 B 7 C 2 X A + B+ C 2) A 5 B 7 C 2 X C B A 3) A 5 B 7 C 2 X 8 ( B C) + 4) A 5 B 7 C 2 X 8B C +
