SHENFIELD HIGH SCHOOL EXAMINATION RESULTS 2011 AND OTHER STATUTORY INFORMATION SEPTEMBER 2011

Examination Results 2011 A Level and AS Level Students usually take 4 AS level subjects or a BTEC National Diploma in Year 12 and have the opportunity to take an additional AS level qualification in Critical Thinking or Citizenship. They can also choose from a range of additional enrichment activities that allow them to develop their skills in Personal Organisation, Leadership, Enterprise and Financial Management. In Year 13, students usually continue with 3 specialist A-Levels or the BTEC National Diploma and have the opportunity to complete an Extended Project Qualification, the AQA Baccalaureate and A-Level Critical Thinking or Citizenship. In 2011, 136 students completed Year 13, 78 boys and 58 girls. 70.6% of the grades achieved were equivalent to A*-C. 99.2% passed a level 3 qualification. For the second year running, students achieved 100% pass rate on the BTEC courses. University Destinations 2011 81 students secured a place at university in 2011, including the following Russell Group universities: Cardiff Liverpool Sheffield Warwick The top ten most popular universities in 2011 were: 1. KS4 Results 2011 There were 243 students in Year 11, 123 boys and 120 girls. 100% of our students achieved at least one qualification. 82% gained 5 or more GCSE grades at A* to C, well above the 2010 National Average of 75%. 67% gained 5 A*-Cs including English and Maths, again, well above the previous year s National Average of 54%.
