Summer 2015 Units: 10 high school credits UC Requirement Category: d General Description: BIOLOGY Grades 9-12 Summer session biology will be an intense, fast paced course. Students will gain an understanding of the processes of living organisms and their interaction with the environment. This course will focus on experimental hands on science, giving students an appreciation for the scientific process. Course goals in biology will be to develop knowledge of facts, terminology, concepts and generalizations that will help the student confront and interpret their biological environment. The student will develop a sense of curiosity and wonderment about phenomena in their natural environment and gain an appreciation of the contributions of biology to daily living. Skills such as study habits, organization of materials, note-taking, interpretation and analysis of data and the study of written information will be gained.
