Venue Upohlav is a small village on the right (western) side of the Nosice dam on the Váh river, between towns of Považská Bystrica and Púchov in western Slovakia, i.e. within one of the classical areas of the Pieniny Klippen Belt. Presentations The conference language is English. Oral presentations will be limited to 20 minutes, including 5 minutes for discussion. One author will be allowed maximum one oral presentation. PowerPoint projectors will be available. Please indicate if you need overhead or slide projector. In the case the number of oral presentations will surpass the time available, the organizers may ask some authors to prepare a poster instead of talk. Number of posters is not limited. Approximate size of posters is A0. Authors are expected to introduce their posters by a short (not more than 5 min.) foreword during the poster sessions. Awards During the conference, the Radek Melka prize will be awarded for papers published in 2007 by authors under age of 35. Colleagues are asked to distribute this information among young scientists, who can apply for the prize with published paper. Petr Mixa (ČTS) can give information about conditions petr.mixa@geology.cz Check the web page for further details. Both, best oral and poster presentations of young scientists will gain a prize. Colleagues are asked to motivate their students for quality work. The Organizing Committee welcomes offers from individuals and organizations supporting/financing prizes. Abstracts Abstracts will be published in the special proceedings and excursion guide volume issued by the D. Štúr State Institute of Geology. Abstract format: maximum two standard A4 pages (MS-Word, Times New Roman 12 pt, single spacing) including figures (only B/W), tables and references. Abstracts should include title, authors and their affiliations, body text, figures and captions, acknowledgements, references. Figures prepared in CorelDraw are preferable. Special issue In the case of interest, we plan to apply for an edited special issue of Geodinamica Acta with contributions presented at CETeG. Probable term of submitting the papers will be autumn 2008, publishing in 2009. Registered participants will get more detailed information later.
