rogram Notes BY WALDEN OND, subtitled a celebration o the ritings o Henry David Thoreau, or Orchestra and Narrator, brings Thoreau s ords to the concert stage, through readings and musical exression As the Narrator resents Thoreau s observations on Nature, the orchestra rovides a musical commentary to the exedition The texts are taken rom Thoreau s Walden and the ournals, dating rom the 850s These ritings chronicle the riter's soourns in the oods o Massachusetts But, Thoreau's exloration is beyond a geograhic location He is seeking the deths o lie's meaning, the truth that comes hen one chooses to live deliberately, to live dee and suck out all the marro o lie He ishes to kno an entire heaven and an entire earth!
