Volunteer Information And Position Descriptions
Meals: Balloon Blow Up Early morning balloon blow up located at Frontier Park in the Depot. Volunteers will blow up 3,000 balloons to be used in the balloon release ceremony at the walk. Frontier Park Depot Office (636)947-6164 5:00 am; please arrive 15 minutes before the start time 8:00 am; time may be extended based on progress weather. This event will take place rain or shine. Donuts or bagels will be provided.
Walk Route Signage Volunteers will be responsible for labeling walk route for directional usage throughout the entirety of the Walk. Frontier Park/Katy Trail Office (636)947-6164 10:15 am; please arrive 15 minutes before the start time 12:30 pm; time may be extended based on walkers progress weather. This event will take place rain or shine.
Registration Volunteers designated to registration will register participants, hand out participant shirts, and direct people to baby name sign in. Frontier Park, Registration/Merchandise Tent Office (636)947-6164 7:30 am; please arrive 15 minutes before the start time 11:00 am; time may be extended based on progress
Merchandise Sales Volunteers designated to merchandise will help Share staff with merchandise sales in addition to directing people to baby name sign in, balloon distribution, and registration. Frontier Park, Registration/Merchandise Tent 7:30 am; please arrive 15 minutes before the start time 1:00 pm; the time may be extended based on progress
Balloon Distribution Distributing balloons will be sporadic. Volunteers may be stationed at the balloon pavilion and/or asked to walk into the crowd to distribute balloons. Frontier Park 7:30 am; please arrive 15 minutes before the start time 10:30 am; the time may be extended based on progress
Balloon Tags Volunteers will manage the balloon message tag table and make sure it stays well supplied with tags and pens. Frontier Park 8:00 am; please arrive 15 minutes before the start time. 11:00 am; the time may be extended based on progress
Baby Name Registration Volunteers will be asked to monitor the sign-up sheet for baby names. It is important to make sure bereaved parents write the name exactly the way they would like the babies name to be read. You are also responsible for making sure the list is given to the name readers 10 minutes before the start of the ceremony. BBQ Lunch Sales Working with the St. Charles First Capitol Lions Club, volunteers will sell and track lunch tickets by using the Square credit card equipment provided. Frontier Park 10:00 am; please arrive 15 minutes before the start time 1:00 pm; the time may be extended based on progress
Creation Station crafts to be determined For this area the volunteer(s) will assist children in various crafts. Frontier Park sales table. Bounce House Attendant Volunteers will supervise children playing in the giant inflatable playhouse. Frontier Park sales table. Make sure to check-in to be place at your 8:00 am; please arrive 15 minutes before the start time 1:00 pm; the time may be extended based on progress
Strings of Hope Volunteers will manage the strings of hope tent and make sure it stays well supplied. Frontier Park sales table. Make sure to check-in to be place at your 8:00 am; please arrive 15 minutes before the start time 10:00 pm; the time may be extended based on progress
Dates: Merchandise Pick Up Merchandise pick up will involve sorting Share merchandise and assembling into purchase orders as well as greeting walk participants with a warm and friendly attitude. *some heavy lifting of boxes may be involved* National Share Office 402 Jackson Street St. Charles, Mo 63301 October 2, 2015 Team Pick Ups October 5-9, 2015 Individual Pick Ups Limited street parking 9:30 am; please arrive 15 minutes before the start time 7:00 pm This requires some heavy lifting and lots of moving around, please dress accordingly
