We may try some light painting techniques to add to our images. The events date will be held during an evening in early February based on weather conditions. If the weather in February does not comply, we could possibly utilize the March 2019 New Moon period. This event is being limited to 10 photographers and prior to the event a planning meeting will be held to solidify understanding of the method of capturing star trails.
Feb 10 Feb 18 Feb 21 Feb 23 Aunique Ranch in Huntsville, Texas Field Trip Aunique Ranch offers some of the most exquisite Gypsy Cob Horses in the US, horses that are as unique in personality as they are in color. Ride along in the Kubota and tour portions of the over 600 acres of beautiful Aunique Ranch property while taking photos of the horses in their natural setting, watching and photographing the Gypsy Cob horses playing and grazing as the day begins. This February there will be seven new babies born and we should be able to watch them interacting with each other on the property. The ranch is located just thirty minutes north of The Woodlands outside of Huntsville, Texas. A van provided by the United Methodist Church will be used while overflow participants will need to carpool to the site. Departure time from the Church at 7:15 AM and returning by 11AM. Entry cost, under 7 free / 7-18 $20 / 18-61 $25 / 62+ $20 paid upon arrival to facility. (Details to be finalized) Mentor Program Lightroom CC Mobile App - Don Rueter Jones Library 2:00-4:00 PM Downtown Houston, Graffiti Plus Fieldtrip Houston is home to a multiple locations where local artists have been able to apply their gift to the outside walls of buildings. Join us as we travel to several sites just East of downtown and if weather and time is on our side, we will travel into the Heights or Midtown areas locating additional murals. Actual travel day will be determined based on weather forecast and wildflower sightings. (Details to be finalized) NO - Easter holiday for church MINI Field Trip (carpool) High Island Rookery We will travel down to the High Island Rookery and possibly another location. (Details to be finalized) Botanical Gardens, Wetlands and Nature Preserves, Beaumont, Texas Area Field Trip Beaumont, Texas, is a showcase in Spring season awash with color and things to do. We will participate in two activities in the area which will be decided by weather and time before the planned day. The Beaumont Botanical Gardens are a portion of the 500-acre Tyrell Park which is listed on the Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail map. Cattail Marsh Scenic Wetlands & Boardwalk includes 900-acres of scenic wetlands along with a boardwalk and covered platforms that provide views of the abundant wildlife. visitors can spot alligators sunbathing along the banks of Hillebrandt Bayou and Willow Marsh Bayou within Cattail Marsh. Big Thicket Nature Preserve is a heavily forested area in SE Texas and a nature lovers paradise A van provided by the United Methodist Church will be used with a departure time of 7:00 AM and a planned return time between the hours of 6 and 8 PM. The mileage from the UMC to Beaumont is about 110 miles with a travel time of 2+ hours. A stop at Buc-ees on our way to Beaumont and an early to midafternoon lunch stop is being planned.
