Nte T Student Expectatins fr students in Grades 3-5: Gather data frm many different frms f scientific investigatins. Identify and cmpare prperties, lcatin and mvement f celestial bjects in ur slar system. Prvide evidence t supprt the fact that matter has bservable and measurable prperties. Identify and describe ways in which heat can be prduced. Prvide evidence frm investigatins t identify prcesses that can be used t change physical prperties f materials. Explain that the changes in the mtin f bjects are determined by the mass f an bject and the amunt f the frce applied. Yu will need a science jurnal t recrd yur respnses. The science jurnal will be used t recrd explratin ideas, data, labeled graphs, newspaper clippings, and persuasive/writings and stries. Students can use a cmpsitin bk r create their wn jurnal by using the materials and directins belw. Use the fllwing materials t create yur jurnal: cnstructin paper magazines (cllage material) ntebk paper (3-hle) scissrs single r 3-hle punch fasteners (yarn, ribbn, brads, rings) ruler tape Fllw the prcedures the t create yur jurnal: Use cnstructin paper t make a frnt and back cver fr yur jurnal. Cut the paper 23 cm wide by 30 cm lng. Place a piece f 3-hle ntebk paper ver the frnt and back cvers and trace the three hles with a pencil. Use a hle puncher t punch ut the hles yu traced. Sandwich a stack f 3-hle ntebk paper between the frnt and back cvers f the jurnal and fasten the papers tgether. Create the frnt and back cver f yur science jurnal. Use yur creative skills t draw a picture r create a cllage f things that relate t science.
