Intuition and Black Moon Lilith Black Moon Lilith is the apogee of the Moon, and represents a hidden inner power to be true to yourself, independent, outspoken, and assertive. But there is a very mystical side to Black Moon Lilith, and it can be associated with strong intuition, psychic ability, an interest in the occult, and a strong inner witch. How do you know if you have a prominent Black Moon Lilith in your natal chart? First, know that there are two calculations for the position of Black Moon Lilith, Mean and True or Oscillating. BML has a wacky movement, so the Mean position averages out that movement, while the True or Oscillating position shows the exact position. Look up both (if you re using astro.com, in Extended Chart Selection, click on Additional Objects, then click on Lilith in the menu for the Mean BML position, and in the Manual entry box, type in h13 for the True/Oscillating BML position). Once you ve found both BML positions, look to see if they are prominent in your natal chart. They ll be prominent if they are: - In the 1st house (ruling you) - Conjunct a personal planet (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars), Neptune, or Pluto - Conjunct an angle (1st, 4th, 7th, 10th house cusps) - Conjunct one of the Lunar Nodes - Is anaretic (at 29 degrees of any sign) - Is at a critical degree (0, 13, 26 degrees of cardinal signs; 8-9, 21-22 degrees of fixed signs; 4, 17 degrees of mutable signs) If that s the case, you likely feel your Black Moon Lilith energy pretty strong! have a block to work through, issue to work out, or something subconscious that needs to be tapped into. Black Moon Lilith in the 2nd, 6th, or 10th houses can ground your mystical, witchy energy, and you may be more practical with it; Black Moon Lilith in the 3rd house may help you focus on mystical interests and ideas; in the 7th house, you may attract mystical folks to you, and in the 11th house, you may have more mystical friends. Black Moon Lilith in the 5th or 9th house can give you a more enthusiastic approach, and you may find mystical focuses fun; while in the 4th or 8th houses, your emotional mysticism may be stronger, and you can feel it more innately. Aspects by transit Black Moon Lilith to your natal chart or by transit planets to your natal Black Moon Lilith can show periods when you may focus on your inner witch. Intuition and Chiron Chiron is an asteroid dubbed the wounded healer who represents the greatest wounds we have to heal from in our lives and how we can heal and grow. But I find Chiron can also show someone who has strong intuitive ability, similar to Black Moon Lilith. It tends to be more on the empathic and healing side, since Chiron does govern healing, and people with a prominent natal Chiron can be greater healers and empaths. Once you know your Chiron position, you can determine if it s prominent in your natal chart, similar to Black Moon Lilith: - In the 1st house (ruling you) - Conjunct a personal planet (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars), Neptune, or Pluto - Conjunct an angle (1st, 4th, 7th, 10th house cusps) - Conjunct one of the Lunar Nodes - Is anaretic (at 29 degrees of any sign) - Is at a critical degree (0, 13, 26 degrees of cardinal signs; 8-9, 21-22 degrees of fixed signs; 4, 17 degrees of mutable signs) If Chiron is intercepted, in the 12th house, or in hard aspect to Saturn, there may be a block issue, or something subconscious that needs to be tapped into/addressed in order to access your healing and empathic abilities. Chiron in the 2nd, 6th, or 10th houses can ground your healing and empathic abilities, and you may tap into the Earth or physical world; in the 3rd house, your words can heal; in the 7th house, you can be a super healer and empath with others, and may attract healers and empaths into your life. In the 11th house, you may heal friends, are more empathic with them, or make friends with healers and empaths. Intuition and the Lunar Nodes The Lunar Nodes are the points in the Moon s orbit where the Moon crosses the ecliptic, and there s a North Node representing our potential and the unfamiliar, and a South Node representing our baggage and the familiar. The Lunar Nodes are spiritual, karmic in nature, and sometimes they can tie into intuition as a result. This is especially true for the South Node, since this is familiar energy and what you already know and are comfortable with. Having the Sun, Moon, or angle on the South Node can bring out a lot of intuitive energy, and it can feel very natural for you. You can fall back to your gut instincts when you feel you need to, and this can be positive as long as it s not a crutch. You have to learn to use your intuition in a positive way. Neptune on the South Node can also produce very strong intuition, though you may not consciously be aware of just how strong your intuition is. Subconsciously, it can act to guide you, but there are times you may not trust it and need to be more secure in your instincts. Mercury on the South Node can show strong intuitive intelligence so long as you don t overthink things, while Venus on the South Node can show strong relationship instincts, but confidence may be needed in what you intuition is telling you (otherwise you may ignore it). Mars on the South Node can show strong gut instincts that can spur you to take action, but confidence is likely also needed (otherwise you may become impulsive in a bad way, or get in your own way). Jupiter on the South Node can amplify your intuitive connection (but you do need to make sure you have some humility with it). Uranus on the South Node can show flashes of intuitive insights, while Pluto on the South Node can show a deeply-held intuition. allowing yourself to access your intuitive self and connect to the subtle energies around you. You likely need to work on whatever it is that is causing you to feel you can t, shouldn t, or are unable to do so. Intuition and Neptune Neptune is the general ruler of intuition, so we can focus on Neptune in the natal chart to get more ideas for how to channel our intuition. Neptune is a slow-moving planet, so he s in the same sign for some time, so for each of us, the house location of Neptune may be more personal than the sign. With Neptune in the 1st house, your intuition can be strong, and you feel very much in touch with that part of you. You can seem like an intuitive person as well, coming across like a mystical creature, and it can be a part of who you are. With Neptune in the 12th house, this house is naturally ruled by Neptune, so you can naturally be in tune with your intuitive side, but you may not be aware of it consciously. You seem to have excellent intuition, but it can be difficult for you to get a hold of it. The 12th house rules dreams, so keeping a dream journal can be helpful. With Neptune in the 2nd house, you can feel a little like an earth god/goddess, and have a more practical, earthy approach to intuition. You can become more in touch with your intuition when you feel grounded and confident. With Neptune in the 3rd house, you can merge your intuition with your mind, and you can have flashes of insight. This occur with Neptune in the 11th house as well. In both the 3rd and 11th houses, you can benefit from using something like astrology or numerology to help channel your intuition. With Neptune in the 4th house, your intuitive side may feel like it s a part of your core, and when you have a stronger internal foundation, you can be more in touch with your intuition. With Neptune in the 5th house, you can channel your intuitive side into creative or artistic ventures and outlets (this can also be good for the 12th house). your intuitive side, and can take a more rational approach to intuition. Can you truly be intuitive when you put rules around it? That may be something you have to work on, but you can have excellent intuition for your work and daily life. With Neptune in the 7th house, you can surround yourself with intuitive types, and let your intuition guide you when dealing with others. You may need some balance, peace, and harmony in order to strengthen your intuition. With Neptune in the 8th house, you can have excellent intuition, and you can be passionate about it and let it lead you. With Neptune in the 9th house, being in tune with your intuitive side can be part of your life philosophy, and you can study lots of ways to strengthen your intuition. With Neptune in the 10th house, you can feel like being a highly intuitive person is something you re constantly striving for, and it can be one of your ultimate goals in life. You can also take a look at the relationship between your natal Neptune and your natal Sun and Moon. If you have your natal Neptune at a hard aspect (square - 3 signs apart, or opposite - 6 signs apart) to your natal Sun or Moon, this can bring some difficulties with accessing your intuitive side, or some discomfort in some way, and this has to be worked on in order to be a truly intuitive person. If you re natal Neptune is at a positive aspect (sextile - two signs apart, or trine - four signs apart) to your natal Sun and Moon, this can make it easier for you to access your intuition. If you have your natal Neptune conjunct (in the same spot as) your natal Sun or Moon, this can make your intuition much stronger, but it may be difficult for you to get control of and it may feel like it controls you or you re not fully aware of the extent of your intuitive powers consciously. Predictively, you can look at transit (moving) Neptune and see when he ll be aspecting your natal planets and house cusps. 1st house cusp or ruler, this can be the most important times for your intuition for better or worse. If he s square or opposite, you may struggle with your intuition, and feel that you can t hear it right at all, or it s not pointing you in the right direction. If he s sextile or trine, you can have a much easier time tapping into your intuitive side and strengthening your intuition. If he s conjunct, it s imperative you pay attention to the messages, but there may be a lot of them, so you have to learn which to listen to. Intuition and the Moon Often, our intuition can be completely out of whack when we re feeling emotionally insecure or unstable. Even when we feel we re receiving intuitive messages and guidance, because we feel off emotionally, it can cause us to question it or to interpret it wrong. This makes it important to work on improving our emotional security and stability so we can be more sensitive to our intuition. The Moon is ruler of our emotions, so focusing on your Moon sign to see what you need to feel emotionally secure and stable. Aries Moon needs to be in charge, taking initiative, and doing something fun and new. You can thrive when you re doing physical activities, and you love starting new projects and embarking on new journeys, and prefer to have a positive attitude. This is true of all of the fire sign Moons, which are Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius. Sagittarius Moon can be the most positive, and tries to have an optimistic outlook. You need to be free to do your own thing, hating being fenced in, and want to expand your life and explore. Leo Moon focuses most on fun, and wants to enjoy life. You can be creative, and feel best when you re expressing yourself creatively and have time to do what you love and be with who you love. The earth signs (which are Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn) require the most stability in life to feel secure. Taurus Moon needs things to stay calm, steady, and doesn t want to be pushed into anything. You can feel best when you re in touch with nature or your body, or indulging. Virgo Moon can be the most anxious of all signs, and requires more structure, order, and routine. You also need to not be hard on yourself, and let things slide off of your back more. Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius are the air signs, and these signs are sociable and engaging, so when you have any of these 3 as your Moon sign, you need to engage with others in order to feel secure emotionally. Gemini Moon needs to be able to talk things out and share thoughts and opinions freely; Libra Moon needs to be able to have personal, one-on-one connections with people they respect and that are drama-free; and Aquarius Moon needs to constantly meet new people, expand their social network, and be open to experimentation. The water signs (which are Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces) are naturally in tune with their emotions and with their intuitive energy, but they can be the most sensitive, so security and stability are ultra important. For Cancer Moons, surround yourself with supportive people and nurture yourself; for Scorpio Moons, channel your passion into something productive, and make transformations throughout your life; and for Pisces Moons, protect yourself from deceitful people and embrace your imagination, compassion, and artistic side. In prediction, the transit (moving) Moon can influence our emotions and intuition as well. Both can be much higher around full moons, which pack more emotional energy. Intuition and the 12th House The 12th house is naturally ruled by Neptune, so this is the house of intuition. The 12th house also rules our subconscious mind as well as the hidden, so we may not be fully aware of the intuitive energies around this house. This can be brought to light when we have a transit (moving) planet going through our 12th house, and the transit planet brings its energy to the 12th house, stimulating it and making us more aware of those hidden intuitive energies. When the transit Sun is in your 12th house, this shines a light on the intuitive energy you have and you can focus more on tapping into it. When transit Mercury is in your 12th house, this makes you think more about your intuition, and you can learn about new ways to tap into it. When transit Venus is in your 12th house, this can make it easier for you to tap into your intuition, and you can enjoy strengthening your connection. When transit Mars is in your 12th house, you can be driven to strengthen your connection to your intuition, and can have plenty of intuitive energy. Mars is in your 12th house for about two months at a time, and this can be an excellent period for strengthening intuition since we tend to be most focused on whatever Mars is doing for us currently. When transit Jupiter is in your 12th house, this occurs for about one year, and it can be much easier for you to strengthen your intuition, similar to Venus but for a longer period. You can feel more comfortable with your intuitive side, and have more opportunities to focus on ways you can strengthen your intuition. When transit Saturn is in your 12th house, this can have the opposite effect, and it can be more difficult to access your intuition while he s in this house (which is typically 2-3 years). When transit Uranus or transit Neptune are in your 12th house, this can be a prolonged period of great intuitive connection. With Uranus, you can connect in unusual ways and be open to experimenting with different approaches to strengthening intuition, and you can get flashes of intuitive insights. Neptune is the natural ruler of the 12th house and of intuition, so Neptune here can make this a more natural occurrence for you. Both of these planets are in the 12th house for many years at a time. When transit Pluto is in your 12th house, you can work on having a powerful connection to your intuitive side, but it may require a deep transformation in your subconscious or a release of some baggage first. Once you accomplish that, you can be an intuitive force. Pluto can be in this house for 10-20 years. Then there is the transit Moon, who moves the fastest of all of the planets, traveling through the entire Zodiac in less than one month, so she s in the 12th house for 2-3 days at a time every month. This can be a great period for intuition each month, though it can be uncomfortable for some if you re feeling emotionally insecure for some reason (refer back to the second email of this series on emotional security and how may need it to become more sensitive intuitively). The Moon gives you the opportunity every month to connect to your intuition, and you can listen closely to the intuitive messages you re getting. One great way you can use any 12th house energy you have going on is through your dreams, which are ruled by the 12th house. You can use a dream dictionary, but you can learn just as much by keeping track of your dreams and thinking about ways they can represent various people, places, and things in your life, and what messages they may be trying to tell you. Intuition and Pisces Houses Pisces is the sign that rules intuition, and this can play out not only in your natal planets, if you have any in Pisces, and not only with your natal Neptune position, the natural ruler of Pisces, but also with the house cusp in your natal chart that has Pisces on it. That house gets some of that Pisces intuition, and it's one where you can - and likely should! - trust your gut, your inner guide, because it's strong there. This can be slightly complicated if the house cusp is anaretic (29 degrees Pisces) or at a critical degree (4 or 17 degrees Pisces), and you may have to work through insecurity before being able to fully access the intuitive energy (but once you do, you actually have even more intuitive energy than everyone else does!). If you don't have a house cusp with Pisces on it, that means Pisces is intercepted, fully contained within the house that has Aquarius on the cusp, and that can make it more difficult to access. There's usually a block involved that needs to be removed before you can use the energy. But subconsciously, the intuitive energy can be much, much stronger for you, and learning to trust your instincts can prove to be a powerful helper in your life. So, where can you trust your gut?
