Where We Are Approximately 75% Complete Defined the Need for Transportation Choices in the Corridor Defined Feasibility Draft Operating Schedule and Plan Rough Order Cost Estimates Potential Station Locations

Questions Asked at Project Initiation Is it feasible and should we make improvements to transit in this corridor? What kind of service should be operated? What kind of improvements are required? What kind of facilities should be built? What are the trade-offs of each alternative?

Ridership Methodolgy INCOG provided the Team with population and employment data for 2005, and projections for 2030 per Traffic Area Zone (TAZ)

Ridership Methodolgy Two approaches were employed The first looked at 21 cities with similar populations and route miles* The second look is based on a regression model developed by Arizona State Univesity Department of Geography. Using variables as follows: population density around each station, employment, percent of renters, number of park & ride spaces, number of connections to bus, climate. * American Public Trnaportation (APTA) Statistics

Initial Ridership Estimated Daily Ridership 2030 Station Union Lewis Skelly Memorial Broken Arrow Total w/ Skelly Total w/ Memorial ASU Regression Model 3,441 3,715 3,753 3,504 3,094 14,005 13,755 Simple Regression with 21 cities* 3,741 4,950 4,102 2,896 15,689 Simple Regression with 21 cities** 3,769 4,988 4,015 2,918 15,690 Based on employment and population nearby, parking, bus connections, climate, system geometry, and renters (as proxy for income) ** Based on density, income, route miles: as this method calcualtes systemwide ridership that is then allocated by station, it is necessary to set up two matricies for the two options of Skelly or Memorial. These numbers do not take into account any improvements to the BA Expressway with regards to lane miles or LOS improvements.
