Chpter 4.3: Elements of Numericl Integrtion 11 Definition 4.1 The degree of ccurcy, or precision, of qudrture formul is the lrgest positive integer n such tht the formul is exct for x k, for ech k = 0, 1,..., n. Definition 4.1 implies tht the Trpezoidl nd Simpson s rules hve degrees of precision one nd three, respectively.
