ALWAYS ONE STEP AHEAD DMA-80L DIRECT MERCURY ANALYZER FOR LIQUIDS
DMA-80L The new Milestone DMA-80L is designed to perform fast, precise and extremely sensitive determination of Mercury from 0,01 to 1.000 ng in water-based samples and digestates. With water samples, a detection limit of 0, 1 ppt can be achieved! The DMA-80L incorporates an atomic absorption spectrometer which is an absolute novelty, as it delivers three Mercury signals at different sensitivity for each analysis. This covers an extremely wide working range, up to 6 orders of magnitude! DIRECT MERCURY ANALYZER FOR LIQUIDS The large dynamic measuring range allows the determination of Mercury in a very wide span of samples, from water to acidic solution resulting from the digestion of solids with high Mercury content. Typical samples for the DMA-80L are: drinking water, surface water, ground water and digestates of grains, fish, meat, baby food, sediments, soil etc. The entire working process, including chemical conversion of the solution, formation of atomic mercury as cold vapor, enrichment by selective amalgamation and final atomization with multiple signal collection and evaluation, lasts less than 2 minutes!
A continuous carrier gas-flow ensures an accurate Hg determination and minimizer memory effects. The DMA-80L is operated through a dedicated controller, the terminal 640 (6,5 wide) or the terminal 1640 (12 wide), both of them touch-screen. The newly developed self-explanatory software allows for complete documentation and fully complies with the FDA CFR 21 Part 11. A built-in 36-position auto-sampler assures an high degree of automation and an elevated sample throughput.
WIDE MEASURING RANGE DMA-80L CALIBRATION Absorbance profile printout. Notice the three absorbance peaks. Cell 0 typical calibration curve By fast amalgam heating, Mercury is quickly released and transported by the carrier gas into the three absorption measuring cells. The first cell detects Mercury with the highest sensitivity and it is therefore suitable for low concentration. The second cell is for medium concentrations and the third one for elevated mercury concentrations. Depending on the Mercury content of the solution, the software automatically choose the appropriate measuring cell. The calibration of the DMA-80L is carried out by measuring certified standards. The instrument automatically select the optimal calibration curve, corresponding to the measuring cell of the atomic absorption spectrometer. A separate calibration curve, up to 10 ng of Mercury, is used for extremely low concentrations. The conversion from Mercury absolute quantity to concentration is automatically done by the software.
