Charged coherent states related to su q ( covariance arxiv:hep-th/36144v1 16 Jun 3 Yun Li and Sicong Jing Department of Modern Physics, University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei, Anhui 36, P.R.China November 6, 18 Abstract A new kind of q-deformed charged coherent states is constructed in Fock space of two-mode q-boson system with su q( covariance and a resolution of unity for these states is derived. We also present a simple way to obtain these coherent states using state projection method. With the study of solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation, quantum groups and algebras have been extensively developed by Jimbo[1] and Drinfeld[]. To realize the Jordan-Schwinger mapping of the quantum algebra su q (, Biedenharn and Macfarlane[3][4] introduced a kind of q-deformed harmonic oscillators. They also discussed some properties of these oscillators, for example, the Fock space structure and the q-deformed coherent states for such oscillator. And Sun and Fu[5] gave the the q-deformed boson realization of the quantum algebra su q (n constructed in terms of this kind of deformed oscillators. But the oscillators in their discussions are all mutually commuting. To our knowledge, in 1989, Pusz and Woronowicz first introduced multimode q-deformed oscillators[6] which are not mutually commuting but satisfy the following relations a i a j = qa j a i (i < j (i,j = 1,,n a i a j = 1 q a j a i (i < j a i a j = qa j a i (1 a j a i = qa i a j a i a i = 1+qa i a i +(q 1 k>ia k a k. Kulish and Damaskinsky pointed that these coupled multimode q-deformed oscillators can be expressed in terms of independent q-deformed harmonic oscillators[7]. Wess and Zumino[8] developed a differential calculus on the quantum hyperplane covariant with respect to the action of the quantum group GL q (n. Recently Chung studied multiboson realization of the two-mode q-boson algebra relations with su q ( covariance[9]. The algebra relations are given by a b = qb a ab = 1 q ba ab = qb a ( ba = qa b aa = 1+qa a+(q 1b b bb = 1+qb b. In fact, these two-mode q-boson algebrarelations are exactly the eq(1 for n = case. Comparing ( with Wess-Zumino s differential calculus relations on the covariant quantum plane xy = qyx x y = 1 q y x x y = qy x (3 y x = qx y x x = 1+qx x +(q 1y y y y = 1+qy y, we can easily find that they are the same thing in sense of Bargmann representation[1] accordingtothecorrespondingrelations(a x, b y anda x, b y. We also gave the the structure of Fock space for the coupled two-mode q-boson system and discussed its simply application to Jordan-Schwinger realization of quantum algebra su q ( and su q (1,1[11]. In this letter, we construct a new kind of q-deformed charged coherent states in the Fock space of the coupled two-mode q-boson oscillators (we emphasize that these coherent states are not so-called su q ( coherent states but they are related to q-boson algebra with su q ( covariance and show a resolution of unity for these states. We also discuss a simple way to obtain these states using projection method. Bhaumik et al[1] discussed the undeformed and also independent case. We use the method developed by them. To begin with, we recall the Fock space representation of (. We take a,a and b,b as q-deformed creation and destruction boson operators, and define the number operators N a, N b following by
b b = [N b ] q N b a a = [N a ] (4 [N] = qn 1 q 1. Using the algebraic relation(, it is easy to verify [N a,a] = a, [N b,b] = b, [N a,b] =, [N b,a] =, (5 and [N a,n b ] =. Let, be the ground state satisfying a, =, b, = N i, =, (i = a,b (6 and { n,m n,m =,1,...} be the set of the orthogonal number eigenstates N a n,m = n n,m N b n,m = m n,m (7 n,m n,m = δ nn δ mm. From the algebra(, the Fock space representation for the q-bosons a and b is given by a n,m = q m [n] n 1,m, b n,m = [m] n,m 1 a n,m = q m [n+1] n+1,m, b n,m = [m+1] n,m+1.(8 The general number eigenstate n,m is obtained by applying b m times after applying a n times on the ground state, n,m = ( b m( a n [n]![m]!, (9 [n]! = [n][n 1] [][1], []! = 1. Because of the noncommutative character of a, b showing in(, they have not common eigenstate-coherent states. But using the above number operators N a and N b, we may define the charge operators given by Q = N a N b (1 3
which means that each of the a quanta possesses a charge +1, and each of the b quanta a charge 1. From(, we can easily find [Q,ab] = [Q,ba] = [ab,ba] =. (11 Hence, the operator Q, ab, and ba may have common eigenstates, which is calle-deformed charged coherent state[1]. We denote this coherent state as z,e (z is a complex number and e an integer with the requirements that Q z,e = e z,e ab z,e = z z,e. (1 To obtain an explicit expression for this coherent state, we consider the following expansion z,e = n,m= Since z,e is an eigenstate of Q, for e, we obtain z,e = C nm (z n,m. (13 C m+e,m (z m+e,m. (14 m= Substituting this expression into the second equation in (1, using (8, we obtain [e]!z n C m+e.m (z = C e, q m(m 1/ [m]![m+e]!, (15 so the charged coherent state is given by z,e = N e m= with the normalization constant N e = z n m+e,m (16 q m(m 1/ [m]![m+e]! m= z n q m(m 1/ [m]![m+e]!. (17 To resolve the unity for these coherent states, we introduce the q-analogue of integral defined by Jackson[13][14][15]. We hereby give a few words about this integral. The q-derivative is defined as df (x x and the corresponding integral is given by f (x x = (1 q = f (qx f (x (q 1x (18 q l xf ( q l x +const. (19 l= 4
If a is finite, we have a and if a is infinitive, we have f (x x = (1 q l= f (x x = (1 q l= q l xf ( q l a ( q l xf ( q l. (1 The q-integration by parts formula is d (f (xg(x = ( d f (x ( d g(qx+f (x g(x ( and a ( d f (x g(x x = f (xg(x x= x=a a ( d f (x g(qx x. (3 It is well known that Exton[16] defines a family of q-exponential functions by x n q λn(n 1 E(q,λ;x =. (4 [n]! n= Using the definition of q-derivative (18, one can derive the following expression de(q,λ;x x = E ( q,λ;q λ x (5 so with the parts formula( and (3, the following result can be carefully calculated. E(q,λ; xx n x = q h(n,λ [n]!, (6 h(x,α = α(x+1(x+ x(x+1/. (7 Next step we define q(λ,ρ-modified Bessel function which has the same form as the common modified Bessel function when q, λ, ρ approach 1 simultaneously ( K n (λ,ρ;x = 1 x [] q [] q 1/ n ( t n 1 E(q,λ; te n is integer. With the above definition and (6, we have q,ρ; x [] q 1/ t t (8 5
= q 1/r r µ K ν (λ,ρ;[a] q 1/ r µ+ν 1 h(,ρ+h( µ ν 1,λ µ 1 [] [a] µ 1 q 1/ q 1/ Γ q ( µ+ν+1 ( µ ν+1 Γq (9 Γ q (x is q-deformed Gamma Function. When q approaches 1, it reduces into the common Gamma Function. If x is integer, it equals [x]!. By setting Φ e (z = q e+3 [] q 1/ z e Ne K e (λ,ρ;[] q 1/ z (3 λ = 1+e 1, ρ = 1/ e 1 these charged coherent states for the two-mode couple-bosons satisfy the completeness relation e= d q z π Φ e(z z,e z,e = I (31 d qz 1 ( z dθ = [] q 1/ z 1/ ( z dθ. The coherent states for this system may also be obtained by projecting out a state of a definite charge from the following state αβ = = n.m= n.m= α n β m ( b m( a n, q m(m 1/4 [n]![m]! α n β m n,m (3 q m(m 1/ [n]![m]! which does not have a definite charge. It is easily found that this state is the associated coherent state of ab and ba satisfying If we set we can find that the state ab αβ = αβ αβ, ba αβ = qαβ αβ (33 α = ξexp( i(θ +ϕ, β = ηexp( i(θ ϕ, (34 ξηθ;e = 1 π π dϕexp(ieϕ αβ (35 6
yields Q ξηθ;e = e ξηθ;e, ab ξηθ;e = αβ ξηθ;e, (36 so this state is identical to the charged coherent state z,e for this coupled q-boson system if we only set ξηexp( iθ = z. Here Exp(x is the ordinary exponential function of x. In summary, we explicitly construct the q-deformed charged coherent states for the the two-mode couple-bosons with su q ( covariance and give a resolution of unity for these states. We also find a simple way to obtain these coherent states using state projection. Similarly one can construct deformation of the charged coherent states for multimode couple-bosons(1.
