Student Mentoring During the summer of 2009, I managed and mentored 5 graduate students in the Mobile Analytical Monitoring and Miniaturization Laboratory at the University of Memphis (4 Doctoral and 1 Master s). I am serving on the doctoral committees for Patricia L. Ranaivo and Meggan L. Larson and a master s committee for Cynthia Choo. I have mentored a senior undergraduate research student at The Citadel through 2 departmental presentations, 2 poster presentations (including one at the American Chemical Society 237 th National Conference), and a ~30-page senior thesis reviewed within the department. The senior research student won a Sigma Xi Charleston Chapter Undergraduate Research Award for his work with haloacetic acids reaction with B-vitamins. I have mentored five undergraduate and one high school student as a graduate student as part of the NSF-REU and ACS Project SEED programs at the University of Memphis. 5
