Discussions of solutions, acid-base chemistry, and properties of organic compounds provide the basis for introduction to the chemistry of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. The action of hormones, enzymes, and vitamins is included to provide an understanding of biological systems. PREREQUISITE: MA 091 or its equivalent and completion of one year of high school chemistry or CH 100A within the past five years with a grade of C or better, or consent of department.
