X(3872), I G (J PC ) = 0 + (1 ++ ), as the χ 1 (2P) harmonium N.N. Ahasov a and E.V. Rogozina a,b a Laboratory of Theoretial Physis, Sobolev Institute for Mathematis, 630090, Novosibirsk, Russia b Novosibirsk State University, 630090, Novosibirsk, Russia arxiv:1501.03583v3 [hep-ph] 15 Ot 2015 (Dated: August 3, 2018) Abstrat Contrary to almost standard opinion that the X(3872) resonane is the D 0 D0 +.. moleule or the q q four-quark state, we disuss the senario where the X(3872) resonane is the = χ 1 (2P) harmonium whih sits on the D 0 D0 threshold. We explain the shift of the mass of the X(3872) resonane with respet to the predition of a potential model for the mass of the χ 1 (2P) harmonium by the ontribution of the virtual D D +.. intermediate states into the self energy of the X(3872) resonane. This allows us to estimate the oupling onstant of the X(7872) resonane with the D 0 D0 hannel, the branhing ratio of the X(3872) D 0 D0 +.. deay, and the branhing ratio of the X(3872) deay into all non-d 0 D0 +.. states. We predit a signifiant number of unknown deays of X(3872) via two gluon: X(3872) gluon gluon hadrons. We suggest a physially lear program of experimental researhes for verifiation of our assumption. PACS numbers: 13.75.Lb, 11.15.Pg, 11.80.Et, 12.39.Fe 1
The X(3872) resonane beame the first in disovery of the resonant strutures XY Z (X(3872), Y(4260), Z b + (10610), Z+ b (10650), Z+ (3900)), the interpretations of whih as hadron states assumes existene in them at least pair of heavy and pair of light quarks in this or that form. Thousand artiles on this subjet already were published in spite of the fat that many properties of new resonant strutures are not defined yet and not all possible mehanisms of dynami generation of these strutures are studied, in partiular, the role of the anomalous Landau thresholds is not studied. Anyway, this spetrosopy took the entral plae in physis of hadrons. Below we give reasons that X(3872), I G (J PC ) = 0 + (1 ++ ), is the χ 1 (2P) harmonium and suggest a physially lear program of experimental researhes for verifiation of our assumption. The two dramati disoveries have generated a stream of the D 0 D0 +D 0 D 0 moleular interpretations of the X(3872) resonane. The mass of the X(3872) resonane is 50 MeV lower than preditions of the most luky naive potential models for the mass of the χ 1 (2P) resonane, m X m χ1 (2P) = 50MeV, (1) and the relation between the branhing ratios BR(X π + π π 0 J/ψ(1S)) BR(X π + π J/ψ(1S)), (2) that is interpreted as a strong violation of isotopi symmetry. But the bounding energy is small, ǫ B < (1 3) MeV. That is, the radius of the moleule is large, r X(3872) > (3 5) fm = (3 5) 10 13 m. As for the harmonium, its radius is less one fermi, r χ1 (2P) 0.5 fm = 0.5 10 13 m. That is, the moleule volume is 100 1000 times as large as the harmonium volume, V X(3872) /V > χ1 (2P) 100 1000. How to explain suffiiently abundant inlusive prodution of the rather extended moleule X(3872) in a hard proess pp X(3872) + anything with rapidity in the range 2,5-4,5 and transverse momentum in the range 5-20 GeV [1]? Really, σ(pp X(3872)+anything)BR(X(3872) π + π J/ψ) = 5.4nb (3) and σ(pp ψ(2s)+anything)br(ψ(2s) π + π J/ψ) = 38nb. (4) 2
But, aording to Ref. [2] BR(ψ(2S) π + π J/ψ) = 0.34 (5) while 0.023 < BR(X(3872) π + π J/ψ) < 0.066 (6) aording to Ref. [3]. So, 0.74 < σ(pp X(3872)+anything) σ(pp ψ(2s)+anything) < 2.1. (7) The extended moleule is produed in the hard proess as intensively as the ompat harmonium. It s a mirale. As for the problem of the mass shift, Eq. (1), the ontribution of the D D + and D 0 D 0 loops, see Fig. 1, into the self energy of the X(3872) resonane, Π X (s), solves it easily. X D D FIG. 1: The ontribution of the D 0 D 0 and D D + loops into the self energy of the X(3872) resonane. where I D D (s) = Π X (s) = Π D 0 D 0 X (s)+π D D + X (s) = g2 ( A I D0 D 0 (s)+i D D + (s) ), (8) 8π 2 Λ 2 m 2 + (s m 2 +)(s m 2 ) s (s s) ds 2ln 2Λ m 2 + s 2 artan m + s s m 2 + s, (9) where m + = m D +m D, m = m D m D, s < m 2 +, Λ2 m 2 +. (10) 3
For the alulations we use the Lagrangian L(x) = g A X µ( D µ (x) D(x)+ D µ (x)d(x) ) = g A X µ( D 0 µ (x) D 0 (x)+ D 0 µ (x)d0 (x)+d + µ (x)d (x)+d + µ (x)d (x) ). (11) The width of the X D 0 D0 +.. deay Γ(X D 0 D0 +.., s) (g 2 A /8π)(2 k /s). (12) The inverse propagator of the X(3872) resonane D X (s) = m 2 χ 1 (2P) s Π X(s) ım X Γ, (13) where Γ = ΣΓ i is the total width of the X(3872) deays into all {i} non-d 0 D0 +.. hannels. Aording to Refs. [4] and [5] Γ < 1.2 MeV! The renormalization of mass [6] m 2 χ 1 (2P) m 2 X Π X (m 2 X) = 0 (14) results in (2m X + ) = Π X (m 2 X ) ( g 2 A /8π2) 4ln(2Λ/m + ). (15) The renormalized propagator has the form [7] D X (s) = m 2 X s+π X(m 2 X ) Π X(s) ım X Γ. (16) If = m χ1 (2P) m X 50 MeV, see Eq. (1), then ga 2/8π 0.2 GeV2 for Λ = 10 GeV. Aording to Ref. [5] suh ga/8π 2 results in BR(X D 0 D 0 + D 0 D 0 ) 0.3 [8]. Thus, we expet that a number of unknown mainly two-gluon deays of X(3872) into non-d 0 D0 +.. states are onsiderable [9]. For details see Ref. [5]. The disovery of these deays would be the strong (if not deisive) onfirmation of our senario. As for BR(X ωj/ψ) BR(X ρj/ψ), Eq. (2), this ould be a result of dynamis. In our senario the ωj/ψ state is produed via the three gluons, see Fig. 2. As for the ρj/ψ state, it is produed both via the one photon, see Fig. 3, and via the three gluons (via the ontribution m u m d ), see Fig. 2. 4
q q FIG. 2: The three-gluon prodution of the ω and ρ mesons (via the ontribution m u m d ). All possible permutations of gluons are assumed. ρ FIG. 3: The one-photon prodution of the ρ meson. All possible permutations of photon are assumed. Close to our senario is an example of the J/ψ ρη and J/ψ ωη deays. Aording to Ref. [2] BR(J/ψ ρη ) = (1.05±0.18) 10 4 and BR(J/ψ ωη ) = (1.82±0.21) 10 4. (17) Note that in the X(3872) ase the ω meson is produed on its tail (m X m J/ψ = 775 MeV), while the ρ meson is produed on a half. It is well known that the physis of harmonium ( ) and bottomonium (b b) is similar. Let us ompare the already known features of X(3872) with the ones of Υ b1 (2P). Reently, the LHCb Collaboration published a landmark result [10] BR(X γψ(2s)) BR(X γj/ψ) ( ) 3 ωψ(2s) = C X = 2.46±0.7, (18) ω J/ψ 5
where ω ψ(2s) and ω J/ψ are the energies of the photons in the X γψ(2s) and BR(X γj/ψ) deays, respetively. On the other hand, it is known [2] that BR(χ b1 (2P) γυ(2s)) BR(χ b1 (2P) γυ(1s)) = C χ b1 (2P) ( ωυ(2s) ω Υ(1S) ) 3 = 2.16±0.28, (19) where ω Υ(2S) and ω Υ(1S) are the energies of the photons in the χ b1 (2P) γυ(2s) and χ b1 (2P) γυ(1s) deays, respetively. and Consequently, C X = 136.78±38.89 (20) C χb1 (2P) = 80±10.37 (21) as all most luky versions of the potential model predit for the quarkonia, C χ1 (2P) 1 and C χb1 (2P) 1. Aording to Ref. [2] BR(χ b1 (2P) ωυ(1s)) = ( 1.63± 0.4 0.34) %. (22) If the one photon mehanism dominates in the X(3872) ρj/ψ deay, see Fig.3, then one should expet BR(χ b1 (2P) ρυ(1s)) (e b /e ) 2 1.6% = (1/4) 1.6% = 0.4%, (23) where e and e b are the harges of the and b quarks, respetively. If the three gluon mehanism (its part m u m d ) dominates in the X(3872) ρj/ψ deay, see Fig.2, then one should expet BR(χ b1 (2P) ρυ(1s)) 1.6%. (24) We believe that disovery of a signifiant number of unknown deays of X(3872) into non-d 0 D0 +.. states and disovery of the χ b1 (2P) ρυ(1s) deay ould deide destiny of X(3872). One more, we disuss the senario where the χ 1 (2P) harmonium sits on the D 0 D0 thresholdbutnotamixingofthegiantd D moleuleandtheompatχ1 (2P)harmonium, see, for example, Refs. [11], [12], and referenes ited therein. Note that the mixing of suh 6
states requests the speial justifiation. That is, it is neessary to show that the transition of the giant moleule into the ompat harmonium is onsiderable at insignifiant overlapping of their wave funtions. Suh a transition V χ1 (2P)/V X(3872) and a branhing ratio of a deay via suh a transition V χ1 (2P)/V X(3872). We are grateful to A.E. Bondar, M. Karliner, B.A. Kniehl, and J.L. [7] The exat formulae of Re(Π X (m 2 X )) Π X(s) in all regions of s an be found in Ref. [5]. [8] The assumption of the determining role of the D D+.. hannels in the shift of the mass of the χ 1 (P) meson is based on the following reasoning. Let us imagine that D and D mesons are light, for example, as the K and K mesons. Then the width of X(3872) meson is equal 50 MeV for g 2 A /8π = 0.2GeV 2 that muh more than the width of its deay into all non- D 0 D0 hannels, Γ < 1.2 MeV. That is, in our ase the oupling of the X(383) meson with the D D +.. hannels is rather strong. [9] Note that in the χ 1 (1P) ase the width of the two-gluon deays equals 0.56 MeV [2] that agrees with Γ < 1.2 MeV satisfatory. [10] R. Aaij et al. (LHCb Collaboration), Nul. Phys.
