THE EVIL QUEEN AND THE RED CACTUS By Dilmehr Kaur The Story Analysis BY JIHAN KAMILA AULIRAHAM And The

MAIN IDEA Emily, Lucy, and Rosie were brave girls who showed their bravery by going on a dangerous mission against the evil queen to find the red cactus and its silver leaves that could cure the villagers from a strange disease. They had to face lions and cobras. When they actually met the evil queen, they learnt that she was evil because of the people who cut the trees and killed her animals of her forest. they learnt their lesson, got the silver leaves of the red cactus, and told the villagers to take care of the forest.

Theme The story The Evil Queen and the Red cactus is about 3 girls who go on a mission to find the red cactus with silver leaves, that is protected by an evil queen. The silver leaves were the cure to a strange disease that the people of their village were suffering from. The 3 girls showed extreme bravery to face the evil queen. They did not even think that the evil queen was in pain because of the bad acts of the villagers themselves. When you did not see something with your own eyes or have experienced something yourself, you cannot be so sure about what others say. Like in the story people/villagers believed that the queen was evil but reality proved that they were more evil than the queen herself.

Climax Climax is the part that makes the result of the conflict clear Is the turning and the most exciting part of the story ex.: All three of them took out their weapons and went running nearer but suddenly, green giant monsters appeared in front of them! The lions and cobras that they saw earlier were also there. They froze with their mouths wide open. They didn t know how to attack now.

Falling action The falling action is the part that shows how the main character finds a solution to the conflict. Eases the tension of the story ex.: Rosie, Lucy, and Emily froze for seconds. They never thought about it before. They really felt sorry and said, We re really sorry for that. We will tell our people not to cut trees and kill animals and help you take care of the forest. But please could you give us some red cactus and get away the mysterious rats in the village? Emily said OK, you re free to get the red cactus, get the silver leaves and tell the people to eat them. They ll be OK later. Its in my garden, follow me. The queen said as she directed them to her garden to get the silver leaves of the red cactus.

Resolution Resolution is when you what happens to the characters after the conflict is revolved. Reveals how everything turns out. ex.: After they got the silver leaves of the red cactus, the queen used her magic to get away the rats from their village. The queen also brought horses to bring the three brave girls back home. When they reached home, they gave the silver leaves from the red cactus to the people and they told everyone to take care of the forest. And they also told them that the queen isn t evil anymore. They lived happily ever after.
