No.: 9.9 Mode of operation The IF Comet consists of identically designed channels (one channel per metering field and this, in turn, for both metering chambers means channels). The descriptions below consequently apply to each of the channels. Mode of operation of the IF Comet in brief: The metering chamber creates a current proportional to the dose. The IF first converts this current to a voltage using a currenttovoltage converter. In turn, this voltage is converted by a voltagetofrequency converter to a proportional frequency. Finally, this frequency is evaluated by the generator CPU. The IF Comet x Series is set with potentiometers. n incorrect basic setting of the potentiometers may, under certain circumstances, lead to distortion or limitation of the metering chamber signal which, in turn, results in a malfunction of the IF in the critical range. For this reason, all potentiometers must be set as specified in the. of the offset potentiometer: The offset potentiometer compensates for the closedcircuit current of the metering chamber (the offset voltage). of the trimmer potentiometers: The trimmer potentiometers are used to intermatch the metering fields so that all metering fields switch off at the same dose.
