The radio analytical laboratory mission is to conduct research by using nuclear analytical methods such as gamma spectrometry, alpha and beta, liquid scintillation neutron activation analysis XRF and isotopic hydrology. These Radio analysis techniques allow to analyze environmental and industrial samples as well as monitoring the level of radioactivity around nuclear installations. To do this, the laboratory is equipped with multiple channels spectrometric measurements X, gamma, beta, alpha and neutron. 6
The application areas Environment The measures focus on the physical environment (air, water, soil) and biological environment (flora and fauna). Food Qualitative and quantitative determination of radionuclides in food products for contamination identification. Determining the level of radioactivity in food products imported or to be exported. Agriculture Qualitative and quantitative determination of radionuclides in certain products used in agriculture (fertilizers, pesticides, etc...). Industry Qualitative and quantitative determination of radionuclides in industrial products (metals, fertilizers, phosphate products, building materials). Health Measure the levels of radioactivity and trace elements in the blood, urine and tissues to assess their impact on the patient. Research and development Research and development in cooperation with university and industry. Supervision of research students in the field of radioanalysis. 7
