2. INSTALLATION Befre putting the device int use, please read with care the infrmatin given in the Operating Instructins. They cntain imprtant instructins fr installatin, prper use and maintenance f the device. Imprper installatin will render the warranty null and vid. Ensure the vltage marked n the pwer supply unit, matches yur main pwer supply. This device is designed fr use indrs. Observe the permissible ambient temperatures fr use. The device meets the requirements fr electrmagnetic cmpatibility. D nt exceed the maximum values specified in the applicable standards. 2.1.. LOCATION AND SETTING We strngly recmmend yu use this device n flat and hard surface. Any sft surface, like carpet will cause inaccuracy. 2.2.. STARTUP Cnnect the equipment t the pwer supply using the AC adaptr. Press the ON/OFF buttn in the indicatr. Wait until 0 appears n display. 4

3. OPERATION Befre reading detailed instructins n hw t use all the weighing functins that are built int yur scale, please read the fllwing imprtant guidelines: Always be sure that the display shws `Zer` befre use, if it des nt then please press the ZERO key. The equipment is designed t detect when a stable weight is achieved, yur reading shuld be taken at this pint. 3.1. After a shrt waiting time, the scale will be zered again. Stable symbl: If the display shws the stabilizatin display [ο], the scale is in the stable cnditin. When the scale is in the unstable cnditin, the stabilizatin display [ο] disappears. - Minr weight: Weight under zer. LOW Lw Battery: Battery need t change r replace. BMI Calculated value f the bdy mass index (BMI). HOLD PRE-TARE NET WEIGHT Hld functin / saving functin is active. Initially set tare value is active. The net weight is displayed. The present weight value is displayed. 5

3.2. WEIGHING Switch n the scale with the [ON/OFF] key. The diagnstic scale self-check is perfrmed and then the sftware versin is displayed. The scale is ready fr weighing when the 0,00 kg weight display is shwn. NOTE: If 0,00 kg wn t display n the screen, press [ 0 ] key t zer the scale, [ 0 ] can be used any time t zer the scale. Place a persn in the middle f the scale. Wait until the stability display (ο) is shwn and then read the weighing result. DIRECTION: If a persn is heavier than the weighing range, the display will shw the Err symbl (= verlad). 3.4. TARING Tare allws the user t zer the instrument t cancel the weight f a cntainer/ clthes frm the reading f the instrument, thus giving the true weight f the prduct/ persn being tested. Turn n the scale using [ON/OFF] key. 6

When 0,00 kg displays n the screen and scale beeps twice, place the bject (clthes) t be tared n the tray. Press [TARE] key after the weight stabilizes and stable sign appears n the display. Display will return t 0,00 kg Place the item/ baby t be weighed (withut remving the tare bject). The weighing result is the Net weight f the item / baby. T delete the saved tare value, remve the tare bject frm the tread platfrm and press [TARE] key. 3.5. HOLD The scale is prvided with the integrated hld functin (determinatin f average value). It enables peple t be weighed accurately althugh they are nt still n the scale plate. NOTE: Determinatin f average value is nt pssible when a persn mves t much. Switch n the scale with the [ON/OFF] key. The scale self-check diagnstic is perfrmed. The scale is ready fr weighing when the 0,00 kg weight display is shwn. Place a persn in the centre f the scale plate. Press the [HOLD] key. When the triangle is flashing n the display, the scale takes sme measuring values and then the calculated average value is displayed. Remve the bject/ baby frm the scale platfrm. The bject/ baby s weight reading will remain n the display. Press the [HOLD] key again t return the scale t the nrmal weighing mde. HOLD functin can be activated befre r after putting the weight n the platfrm. In case f weighing babies that mve a lt, it is recmmended t press [HOLD] key befre the persn mves n the platfrm. 3.6. BODY MASS INDEX (BMI) Fr BMI calculatin, height is needed, therefre it is recmmended t measure the height f subject befre starting weighing prcedure. Turn ON the scale using [ON/OFF] key. Prceed t weigh as nrmal. After the weight is stable and stable sign displays n the screen press [BMI] key. Display will change t 0,00 kg. Key-in the height f the persn using numeric keys (0~9). Example: 186cm (the height shuld be in centimeters). Press [ENTER] t cnfirm, the Display will shw the B.M.I. f the persn. Press [BMI] again t return t nrmal mde. Categries f BMI Classificatin f weight fr adults ver 18 years n the basis f Bdy Mass Index accrding t WHO, 2000 EK IV and WHO 2004 (WHO - Wrld Health Organizatin). 7

PRE-TARE The scale can stre 5 sets f pre-tare values, and there are tw methds t stre pre-tare value Using Dead Weight r Enter weight using 0~9 keys: Using Dead Weight Descriptin Example Press M1-5 key after lading the weight; the display will shw blinking m sign. Press numeral key 1 ~ 5 t assign the psitin t pre-tare weight. Fr example: Press 1 t assign psitin-1 t preset tare weight. The display will blink and makea beep sund. NOTE: Yu can assign any ther psitin (frm 1~5) t pre-tare weight. Enter Weight Using 0-9 Keys Descriptin Example Press PRE-TARE key, and the extreme left digit will blink. Enter PRE-TARE weight using 0~9 keys. Fr example: 10kg Press ENTER key t cnfirm the pre-tare weight; the display will shw the minus sign n left f the pre-tare weight value. Press M1-5 key; the blinking m sign will appear n the display. Press numeral key 1 ~ 5 t assign the psitin t pre-tare weight. 8

The instrument will make flash and beep sund and will display the saved Pre- Tare Weight. Recall Pre-Tare Value: Descriptin Example Lng press PRE-TARE key fr 3 secnds; the display will shw the blinking m sign. Press numeral key 1 ~ 5 t chse pre-tare value Press ENTER key t cnfirm the pre-tare weight; the instrument will autmatically perfrm tare functin. Press PRE-TARE key t return t Nrmal Mde. 9

4. SETUP Switch ON the scale and lng press [ZERO] key fr 3 secnds. First SETUP and then A.OFF will display successively. Aut-ff time setup This enables peratr t select the aut turn OFF time f the device. Aut ff time: 120 sec/180 sec/240 sec/300 sec/off Buzzer n/ff setup This enables peratr t select beep sund ON/OFF. Buzzer: On/Off NOTE: T cnfirm the settings, please press HOLD when END displays n the display. 4.1. CONNECTING NG WITH PC The equipment can be cnnected t PC t transfer the weighing results. 1. Start Hyper Terminal Start Hyper Terminal prgram frm clicking: Start Menu Prgrams Accessries Cmmunicatin Hyper Terminal. 2. New Cnnectin Descriptin Give new cnnectin a name then click OK. 3. Select Yur COM Prt Click Cnnect t select yur COM prt. Usually there s nly ne ptin fr select. Then click OK. 4. Prt Settings Click Bits per secnd t set up rate at 9600, Data bits at 8, Parity at Nne, Stp bits at 1 and Flw cntrl at Hardware. Then click OK t cmplete yur setting. 5. Output Data When the patient has been weighed and BMI calculated, simply press the PRINT key t utput data frm scale t PC r an Optinal Printer. Parameters f RS232 interface Set parameters f the scale interface n the cnnected device. It is nt pssible t change the scale parameters. Baud rate: 9600 bps 10

Parity check: Nne Data length: 8 bits Stp bit: 1 bit Handshake: RTS/CTS Data cde: ASCII. 4.2. PRINT FUNCTION The Weighing, BMI and Height results can be printed-ut fr recrds using RS232 interface cable (included in accessry kit), which is cnnected with the rund plug at the back terminal. After weighing and calculating BMI simply press PRINT key t print ut the results. The frmat presented belw is the standard frmat f results print-ut and cannt be changed. 11

5. MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING The scale des nt require any rutine maintenance. Hwever, we recmmend checking the scale s accuracy at regular intervals. The regularity f these checks is dependent n the level f use and the state f the scale. We wuld recmmend using alchl based wipes r similar when cleaning the scale. Please d nt use large amunts f water when cleaning the scale as this will cause damage t the scale s electrnics, yu shuld als refrain frm using crrsive liquids r high pressure washers. Always discnnect the scale frm the main pwer supply befre cleaning. 5.1. INSTRUCTIONS FOR CHARGE AND CONNECT If L is displayed n the LCD, yu shuld charge scale with AC adaptr. Lcate adaptr plug at the rear f indicatr. CAUTION: Always cnnect the AC adaptr t the indicatr befre cnnecting t the main pwer supply. Please discnnect the adaptr frm main pwer supply befre indicatr. 5.2. INSTRUCTIONS FOR REPLACING BATTERIES Remve the battery cver Take the battery husing ut Replace new batteries Make sure batteries are well installed Reinstall the battery husing 1. Reinstall the battery cver 5.3. ENVIRONMENTAL All batteries cntain txic cmpunds; dispsal f batteries shuld be delegated t a cmpetent rganizatin, cmplying with the depsit f Pisnus Waste Regulatin 1972. Please d nt incinerate batteries. The ptimum perating temperature fr the scale is 5ºC t +35ºC; althugh it will perate at higher and lwer temperatures the scale s battery life will adversely be affected. 5.4.. EQUIPMENT DISPOSAL All electrical and electrnic prducts shuld be dispsed f separately frm the municipal waste stream via designated cllectin facilities appinted by the gvernment r the lcal authrities. This crssed-ut wheeled bin symbl n the prduct means the prduct is cvered by the Eurpean Directive 2002/96/EC. The crrect dispsal and separate cllectin f the equipment will help prevent ptential negative cnsequences fr the envirnment and human health. It is a precnditin fr reuse and recycling f used electrical and electrnic equipment. 12
