The microprocessor controlled event scheduler is primarily designed with the breeder in mind. The user has total flexibility when increasing or decreasing daylight hours prior to and after a breeding session. Sunflex 24 Plus, can adapt to virtually any scenario, where flexible sunrise & sunset simulations are necessary. The Sunflex 24 Plus, can be the ideal daylight controller for other animals, reptiles and fish. They can benefit from the precise repeatable sunrise / sunset, simulating a natural wildlife environment. The net results should be a healthier and well rested bird, animal, reptile or fish. Initial Set-Up Unpack the SunFleX 24 and mount in a safe, easily accessible location in your room. Away from heating, ventilation or any device capable of generating moisture. Plug unit into a 120V 60 Hz grounded outlet for US/CAN/MEX Units Or Suitable 210/240V 50Hz Outlet for European/ World Versions The controller will power up and go through a startup routine. The display will show a series of startup screens and when completed will display the system time, date and other system information. **Should the internal clock power source voltage SuperCap is low, the system will force user to set Timezone Value followed by Long, Lat etc. For long term reliability a SuperCap is now used as opposed to Lithium rechargeable batteries. More expensive but reliability is worth the price.** During normal operation a 20 character by 4 line LED display, presents informative operational information: Time, and Date, Programmed sunrise/sunset times the controller is set to execute for the day. Local Sunrise/Sunset Times, (Based on user s location & calendar day of the year Mode of Operation, (Manual, Auto, *BOOT or *REST) If in *BOOST or *REST Mode it displays the number of days set for that mode and what day it is on (Example Day 5 of 63 Days) Amount of Daylight for the day If Temp/Humidity Option is installed, Temp/Humidity information is displayed at approximately 30 second intervals. Example: Sunrise Complete waiting for Sunset The following highlights the main features: Menu driven microprocessor control for user friendly intuitive setup and operation. Capable of controlling up to 800W of incandescent or halogen lights. Relay On/Off control of Non-Dimmable lighting up to 1000W. Battery backed Real Time Clock to maintain Time, Date, Location, Time Zone and other vital functional system information. Four unique modes of operation: 3

1. Manual Sunrise/Sunset preset by the user and executed daily. 2. Automatic Sunrise/Sunset based on users location, time zone & calendar day of the year. 3. *BOOST* Mode is a user method to alter the normal sunrise /sunset cycle. This mode is designed to allow the user to gradually increase the daylight hours in a precise method prior to the start of a breeding session. 4. *REST* Mode is exactly the inverse of the Boost Mode. This mode is used after a breeding session to start a rest period of decreased daylight activity. This mode allows the user to gradually decrease the number of daylight hours in same method as above. 5. Now with Fixed Sunrise Start. This mode applies only while in Boost or Rest Mode. When set to YES Sunrise will be Fixed and the + or adjustment of daylight hours will be only at Sunset. 6. Now with Temp/Humidity Option. Sample Sunrise Sequence: a) Sunrise Event Scheduler indicates it is time for Sunrise b) Incandescent or Halogen Lamps are very slowly brought up in brightness., based on Sunrise Duration Value. c) Upon reaching full brightness level, the relay to energize the Non Dimmable Lamps is activated, turning on the daylight lamps. After a short time delay the Incandescent/Halogen lamp(s) are quickly dimmed & turned off. d) Sunflex 24 remains in this mode until Sunset. Day Lamps [ON] Sample Sunset Sequence: a) Sunset Event Scheduler indicates time for Sunset b) Incandescent/Halogen Lamps are quickly brought up to full brightness. c) After a short time delay, the Non Dimmable Lamps are turned off and the Incandescent/Halogen lamp(s) begin to dim at the preset rate for Sunset Duration and will stop at the desired nite light level (if set) or completely off. d) Sunflex 24 remains in this mode until Sunrise. Day Lamps [OFF] Sample Midnight Sequence: a) Midnight Event Scheduler indicates time for daily updates. This event occurs at 15 seconds past midnight daily. b) Sunflex 24 controller, based on current mode of operation determines what is required to be updated for the next days events. Calculates necessary Sunrise/Sunset times. Updates day count if necessary for Boost or Rest mode. c) If Boost or Rest Mode final day count is reached, it then reverts to Manual Mode and continues in that mode until changed by the user. NEW FEATURE Power Failure Detection/Correction: Should a power failure occur during the systems Sunrise Time and Sunset Time, the Sunflex 24 now has intelligence to determine if and what lamps to turn ON when power is restored. If Time is between Sunrise and Sunset, the Day Lamps will come ON, if they were ON prior to the power failure. Therefore if power comes back ON after Sunset the lights will remain OFF, because we have No lights on at night. (Unless Nite Light was set to low glow) Normal operation will be restored starting with the NEXT Sunrise. 10
