Multistage Telescoping Decomposition Method for Solving Fractional Differential Equations Abdelkader Bouhassoun Abstract The application of telescoping decomposition method, developed for ordinary differential equations, is extended to derive approximate analytical solutions of fractional differential equations This method provides us with a simple way to adjust and control the convergence region of solution series by introducing the multistage strategy This technique provides a sequence of functions which converges to the exact solution of the problem The present method performs extremely well in terms of efficiency and simplicity Some examples are solved as illustrations, using symbolic computation Index Terms Caputo fractional derivative, Adomian polynomial, fractional differential equation I INTRODUCTION DIfferential equations of fractional order have been the focus of many studies due to their frequent appearance in various applications in fluid mechanics, viscoelasticity, biology, physics and engineering In fact, a considerable attention has been given to the solution of fractional ordinary differential equations, integral equations and fractional partial differential equations of physical interest Since most fractional differential equations do not have exact analytic solutions, approximation and numerical techniques, are extensively used Recently, the Adomian decomposition method and variational iteration method have been used for solving a wide range of problems (see for instance [], [9], [7], [], [5]) The telescoping decomposition method was first applied in [] It is a numerical method based on the Taylor series expansion which constructs an analytical solution in the form of a polynomial From this method, one obtains a polynomial series solution by means of an iterative procedure A comparison between the telescoping decomposition method and Adomian decomposition method for solving ordinary differential equations is given in [] The fact that the telescoping decomposition method solves nonlinear equations without using Adomian polynomials can be considered as an advantage of this method over the Adomian decomposition method In [5], the author attempts a generalization of this method for the fractional case < α and compares it to the one given by the ADM method Nevertheless, f is supposed to be at least of class C Additionally, the solution series which converges very rapidly in most linear and nonlinear equations, in the case of a large time interval t it may produce a large error In what follows, we will extend this procedure for α > and prove the convergence of the algorithm f will be Manuscript received August 27, 22;
