COURSE IN GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION SYSTEMS (GIS) Upcoming Batches Evening Batch (15 Days) 50 hrs. Session including project work Starts 17/08/2016 Ends 02/09/2016 Timing 6pm 8pm (Monday to Friday) 10am-6pm(Saturday) 2pm-6pm(Sunday) Venue KITCO Head Office, Kochi Last date to 16/08/2016 register About the Course: Geographic Information Science is the study of land and other geographic concepts, applications and systems. GIS applications are tools that allow users to search, analyze spatial information, edit data in maps, and present the results of all these operations. These tools are widely being used in pipeline laying, vegetation mapping, road constructions, telecommunication planning, environmental monitoring and much more. GIS systems help us in identifying solutions to make our businesses more cost and time effective. Why should you attend the course? Powerful technologies are becoming cheaper and system memories are expanding and with the help of GIS, we are able to handle more data to solve complex problems today than ever before. While it was once used only in Cartography (science of Map Making), GIS systems and tools are gaining popularity in diverse fields with exciting and endless possibilities. Few applications of GIS would be to understand the effective allocation of civil resources, to analyze areas of epidemics and disease spread, understand the optimization of public transport network, predict new oil pockets, understand patterns of soil erosion and the extent of danger to nearby settlements etc. While these systems seem complex and intensive, this is an area which is gaining popularity not just because of the usability, but also because of the simplicity in the usage of the existing technology. The availability of open software and tools used in GIS systems and the user-friendliness make this an extremely sought after skill choice for aspiring students and professionals. Training in GIS by KITCO- The industry experts in Civil and Construction sector in India, is designed specifically for up-skilling the participant to a practitioner or master level depending on their existing knowledge levels.
