Compared to the free nucleoside, both OH groups of the sugar moiety are protected by p-toluoyl groups. The sugar is in its C3 0 -endo conformation. Related literature The structures of the analogous 1,2,4-triazole and tetrazole nucleosides have been reported recently (Müller et al., 2005). These nucleosides have been used in metal-ion-mediated base pairs (Böhme et al., 2007). For related literature, see: Polonius & Müller (2007); Müller et al. (2007); Allen et al.
