63.sees CORBi ERE ^010 OPAP FINAL SUBMISSION by GEORGE LUCUIK FILE NUMBER OP90-300 Enclosed please find my final report for work conducted on several properties which had been outlined in my proposal. In summary, prospecting went quite well in spite of no major discoveries. The following is a breakdown of the areas prospected with brief comments on each property. Maps, diagrams and assays are attached. 1. Corbiere twp.- This property was visited once this spring. Nine samples were taken and assayed for gold. All samples were anomalous, however, the values obtained were quite low. The area lies within a major deformation zone with very intense shearing covering much of the property. The geology is very good and further prospecting is certainly warranted. Newmont Exp. accompanied me on the property but felt that unless higher gold values could be obtained, they could not justify taking an option to cover the ground. My intention is to further explore this property next year. 2. Chabanel twp.- This is an old gold prospect with little work conducted on the property since the mid-thirties. Sampling outside the main shear zone showed very low gold values. Within the shear zone, seven new trenches were blasted out and sampled. The values here were low but quite anomalous in some of the pits. My original intention was to put down 2-3 drill holes within the zone, however, I felt the gold values obtained from the trenches were not high enough to warrant that kind of an expense. In retrospect, it might have been better to consult a geologist at this point to aid me in making that decision. I think the property warrants further prospecting with possibly additional trenching west of the main showing toward and adjacent to the large diabase dyke. 3. Thompson twp.- This was a past copper producer which existed for one year prior to being burnt to the ground in 1908. The property is interesting as it has gold values associated with the copper. Prospecting here consisted of sampling both the north and south(main)veins with some emphasis on trying to find out if there was a relationship between the pyrite content of the ore and gold value. Preliminary sampling seems to indicate an association between the two elements in the main vein but not so in the north vein. The north vein, although narrow, 1-2 feet, and sparsely mineralized, had some very interesting gold values (as high as 5300ppb). Further prospecting of the south vein is probably not warranted, however, the north vein will continue to be explored. Blue Heaven Res.(owner-George Babcock)who are presently exploring the Gould copper property north of Thessalon, may put the property into production and if so, have expressed an interest in this property for additional tonnage. 4. Varley twp.- This is a new prospect acquired in the fall of 1990. It is a deposit of specular hematite which I hope can be developed into use within the paint industry. To date, most occurrences of specular hematite are very small, normally a few inches in width. This occurrence has been traced for nine hundred feet, open at both ends, with widths up to 15 feet. Initial sampling show the hematite to be primarily of the granular type as opposed to the more preferred flaky variety, however, this can change within a deposit as demonstrated in Austria, so further prospecting will be carried out next year. Contacting companies interested in this commodity will be carried out this winter.
