Kensington Woods School Name: Art 1 Experiment Project For this project, you will create a series of paintings that communicate a message through their use of color. Create a series of 3+ small painting experiments accomplish the following: Utilizes a color theme to communicate meaning or emotion (can be different themes across the paintings). By theme I mean a combination of colors that create a certain feel You will have to write a statement about your color theme choices and what they communicate at the end of the project (more info about the statement to come). The series must communicate a message or emotion. This message/emotion can be different for each piece or the same but should make logical sense as a series. So if they are different, how do they connect? Does it show a transition or process? Do they tell a narrative? Are they opposites? Can be abstract or representational or a combination of both The 3+ final works should fit together as a series (so a common element in all, like style, line use, color theme, common color with different themes, etc.) Uses colors blended by you (not only straight bottle colors). Uses glazing to develop depth in tone Meet requirements of standard rubric You must paint at least 6 to choose your final series from. Your final series should be at least 3 pieces, but can be more.
