It w as found that m ale accessary gland, dup lex, and p rim ary simp lex lengthened rap idly from nigh t 0 (the night of em ergence) to night 1 and incresed steadily from then on. Testis contracted gradually w ith the lap se of tim e, im 2 p lying the m aturity of m ale rep roductive system w as on nigh t 2 o r 3. A ll the 12day2o ld fem ales carried m ature eggs and the p re2rep roductive period w as from 0. 7 to 1. 7 day. Rate of ovipo siting fem ales and egg2depo sition kep t increasing until nigh t 7. The successful m ating of m ale started on nigh t 2 w ith m ating rate being 5. 6%, w h ile that of fem ale on nigh t 1 w ith m ating rate 16. 2%. Bo th peaked on nigh t 4.
