CONNECTING/DISCONNECTING f MICRO psitiner: Clred cnnectrs can be pulled ut f psitiner and plugged in, withut screwing wires. Thught we suggest yu make sure that all screws are tied prperly n all wires n bth ends f cables (n mtr side and n psitiner side). Be careful nt t cnnect falsely as system might suffer damage. BUTTONS: Psitiner Micr has tw black buttns, ne runs Mtr A twards retracted psitin (in) and the ther buttn runs Mtr A twards extended psitin (ut). Psitiners POZSOL27x (OG+ trackers) als have buttns fr manuals peratin with same functin. One buttn runs Mtr A twards starting pint and the ther runs mtr twards ending psitin. If yu press bth buttns at same time, red LED indicatr will shine and manual peratin will g int Axis B mde, where ne buttn runs Mtr B in and the ther buttn runs Mtr B ut. After few secnds f inactivity mde autmatically ges int Axis A mde. If yu keep bth buttns pressed fr ~15 secnds, tracking mde will be enabled (N manual time setup is available at Micr). At TIV27x psitiner yu can set up time and enable tracking by driving mtr int mst perpendicular psitin and hlding bth buttns ~15s. Tipp: If tracking is enabled, mtrs will autmatically return t sun-tracking psitin. If yu wish the tracker t stay in psitin that was set manually, take transparent fuse ut f the junctin bx r discnnect pwer supply. Attentin: DO NOT run mtrs int retracted r extended psitin! Buttns are meant fr testing and emergency use nly. Nte that all wiring is dne befre running mtrs! HELIOS ANALYTICS: The basic tracker peratin is nt cnditined by the use f a PC, but it prvides additinal functins that can be useful fr advanced users. In additin, different parameters f slar tracker can be seen in this menu. CHANGING LANGUAGE: Language can be changed in drp dwn menu System, menu Settings. Available languages are English and German. Yur language can be add as well, but yu have t translate the texts int yur language. Page 2

ATTENTION!! Changing values in the menu may influence the slar tracker peratin! If yu encunter prblems with tracker, g t Chapter 50: Trubleshting. Each white input field displays the current value, i.e., the slar tracker setting. Clicking in a particular input field turns the field yellw, what means yu can change the value. As lng as the input field is yellw, yu can enter a new value in it. When yu are satisfied with the new value, press»enter«. Entered value will be sent t psitiner, input field will turn white again and new (changed) value will be shwed. Sme input fields meant as indicatrs s values and culd nt be changed (fr example: supply vltage display). In such fields, changing value will nt take effect. CONNECTION: Psitiner is cnnected t Helis via USB bus (default) r RS485 bus (ptinal). Use enclsed USB cable. After yu cnnect t USB cable t yur cmputer, let windws t install all drivers. The best when yu have als internet there s yu can let windws t install drivers frm internet. Windws need t be updated t latest custm and security updates. In case this fail try with drivers which are described belw. Run and install the driver file named VCP_V1.4.0_Setup.exe. Nte: fr RS485 yu will need a RS485 dngle n the PC side, as PC des nt have RS485 standard prt. Please refer t additinal paper. RS485 dngle is nt a part f slar tracker and yu need t buy additinally. Helis tp rw Psitiners Big white space ne the left is a space where all psitiners n cmmunicatin bus are shwn. When n USB, nly ne psitiner will shw. When n RS485 bus, up t 32 psitiners can be shwn, which can be picked with click. Files drpdwn menu All values in fields can be exprted int a file with extensin hss. It is useful t backup current settings. It is als pssible t imprt values frm saved hss file. If yu are unsure whether tracker s settings are crrect, yu can verify by simple maneuver: Check mtr label and find parameter Mech. versin (newer mtrs) r MW ver (lder mtrs). Parameters at newer versins g frm MC1 upwards (MC1, MC2, ). Older versins are at separated by type (SM3, SM4S520M1, SM4S520M2, SM4S900M3) and thse types have underclasses by number frm 1000 upwards (1000, 1001, ). Menu includes tw submenus: Settings and Lcking. System drpdwn menu Submenu Settings includes parameters Prgram settings bx, COM prt settings bx and Custm psitin bx. Under Prgram settings Language and scan f RS485 IDs can be changed. Under COM prt settings cmmunicatin prperties fr RS485 bus can be changed (already pre-set). Under Custm psitin angle f three buttns in Helis Analytics main menu can be changed. Clicking n a buttn disables tracking and frces the psitin. See details in chapter 19. Submenu Lcking is nt relevant fr regular users. Update Driving electrnic (firmware) in slar tracker is upgradable. It means that we cnstantly imprve the prgram, which is running in yur prduct. Check fr latest versin n ur web site http://www.slar-mtrs.cm/, tab»supprt«r direct path: http://www.slar-mtrs.cm/gb/supprt-d24.shtml. If newer versin exists, dwnlad and save zip file t yur lcal disk. Unzip the file t a knwn lcatin. Update via Helis Analytics In Helis analytics prgram select menu Update, select crrect COM prt, brwse fr latest dwnladed upgradable file (*.ehx) and press Update. Wait until transfer reaches 100% and click Clse. If update is successful, new number f FW versin will be shwn. After upgrade prcedure make sure t replace all nan fields with 0 (Zer), if yu dn t knw the apprpriate value. -nan fields can cause the system t malfunctin. If update is nt successful, update the psitiner manually. Nte: Described feature is available nly fr versins B1 and higher. Lwer versins need t be updated manually. See upgrading manuals belw. Manual update is pssible n new versins, t. Manuals fr ld bt lader releases: PC side: yu must have the fllwing files: "app_36_ver5.41.ehx r suntracer.ehx" (see nte 1), app_36_ver5.41.bat (see nte 1) and "update.exe". Save them all in same flder, i.e. c:\yur_flder\ Page 5

Slar tracker cntrller side: Discnnect all pwer supplies frm yur cntrller. Press "W" buttn (buttn t run mtr OUT) and cnnect yur slar tracker cntrller t a PC (n USB prt) with USB cable, which was included by slar tracker (range LED must light). Then release the buttn and range LED will be flashing (time limited t 1 minute). PC side: While LED is still flashing, click n app_36c_ver5.41.bat file. Yu will be asked fr used COM prt (yu can see it in device manager), insert it and press enter. Transfer will begin, LED will turn ff. At 100% upgrade is finished. D yu have prblems with upgrading? Refer t www.slar-mtrs.cm/files/helis/prblems with upgrading - slutins.pdf Nte 1: name.ehx r name.bat culd be different. Described is just an example. COM prt Befre getting any data frm slar tracker, select crrect COM prt and click icn T discnnect, click icn Nte: yu need t have USB (VCP) driver installed. Drivers are included in the archieve file. Mnitring tab Link Indicates cmmunicatin status. If the value is incrementing, Helis has a stable cnnectin t Slar tracker. Otherwise check cables, re-plug USB cable and restart Helis Analytics. SunTracer type Is type f electrnic mdule inside the tracker. Yu will be asked after it when cntacting ur service team. SunTracer Versin Is versin f prgram running inside the psitiner. This parameter will change after upgrade. Field shws service data, errrs, mde etc.. Service Current supply vltage cnnected t slar tracker. Usupply Time Current SOLAR time fr yur lcatin (see ge. lngitude/latitude). Nte that slar time culd differ frm yur zne time. It is crrect nly fr yur accurate ge lngitude. The range fr hurs is 0-23, and minutes 0-60. Hint: if yu set ge. lngitude t 0.0, time must cmpletely equal with UTC time. Time zne: Parameter Time zne applies t Sunrise and Sunset indicatin and has n effect n actual tracking. Current date. Range f days is 1-31, mnths 1-12, f years 1970<. Day/mnth/Year Lngitude, latitude Page 7

Indicate yur gegraphical lngitude and latitude (imprtant fr slar time calculatin). Negative lngitude values g western frm Greenwich, negative latitude values g suthern frm equatr (suthern hemisphere). Mving interval Means at what interval the slar tracker will crrect its psitin t trace the sun. Pssible values are frm 60 t 900 secnds (1-15 minutes). If yu check ptin Reslutin 0.1 degree pssible values are 1 ~ 900 secnds.»sync time«buttn Pressing the»sync time«buttn autmatically sets the current time and date. If yur time r date is incrrect (mre than ten minutes), press the»sync«buttn t pen a wizard where yu insert yur lcal Lngitude. Applicatin autmatically dwnlads G+MT time frm yur cmputer and writes it in the slar tracker memry. Nte: The mean slar time used by the slar tracker is set fr yur gegraphical lngitude, and differs frm yur zne time. Therefre d nt change it after synchrnizing. Enable buttn enables tracking, Disable buttn disables tracking. Enable, disable buttns H/V alignment buttn Pressing this buttn causes slar tracker t mve in cmplete hrizntal psitin. This is necessary during mechanically setup the tracker t align crrect angles. Pre-set angles are: mtr A = 0 and mtr B = 90.0º. If panels (r mirrr, etc) are nt in hrizntal psitin after mtr were stpped and sme minr shift appear, yu need t adjust mechanically (screws, clamps) t get prper hrizntal psitin. Fr cmpletely hrizntal psitin, take spirit level as a sufficient measuring device. Custm psitin buttns These are predefined buttns with predefined angles. Yu can use them, fr example, emergency park psitin in strng wind r high snw parking psitin fr cleaning it frm the panels r yur custm park psitin. Pressing any f these buttns autmatic tracking will becme disabled and tracker will turn the panel int desired psitin. Yu can define all three buttns n yur wn: navigate t System and press Settings. Change text, angle A and angle B. See chapter 2.»D reference A/B«buttns Use buttns t synchrnize mtrs. In case f any change between real axes psitin and internal cunters (impulses) r after mechanic/electrnic service synchrnizatin needs t be dne. After pressing each buttn, mtrs run t its reference psitin (hme). When mtrs stp, psitiner is synchrnized with actual mtrs psitin. Attentin: If system is nt synchrnized when in tracking mde, mtrs culd suffer severe damage! By clicking D reference A/B, errrs will be cleared autmatically. Angle A, B Parameters shw current angle fr each tracker axis. Angle A usually means hur angle and angle B elevatin. Hur angle has negative values in the mrning and psitive values in the afternn. If yu want t set tracker t specific angle, disable tracking, insert number int space Angle (in degrees) and press enter. Psitin, destinatin (A/B) Parameters shw current and destinatin and psitin in impulses. Thse values can nly be used t diagnse the slar tracker peratin. Shw current f each mtr at that mment. I mtr, A,B Manual mvements with buttns With 4 red buttns yu can manually mve bth axes. If yu wish t mve axes manually by arrws r inserting angle, Autmatic tracking must be disabled. Parameter Mde indicates current status f tracker:» tracking k «- autmatic tracking enabled, the Sun is abve the hriznt, tracking is pssible (accrding t mechanical range)» sun t far «- autmatic tracking enabled, Sun is unreachable (i.e. during the night)» tracking disabled «- autmatic tracking disabled Page 8

Status (A/B) Indicate a current perating status f tracker ( mving in, etc.) Errr (A/B) Indicates that an errr ccurred when tracking. If status shws an errr and yu have already slved the prblem, click n Clear t enable mtrs again. vercurrent: mtr's high curent exceeds limitatin setting hall: psitin feedback sensr signal failed t lng ref: ging t reference is t lng cable: bad cnnectin between mtrs and psitiner Bx indicates warnings and actins that tracker is perfrming. Cmmn Pwer failed: this flag is set after each pwer fault (use clear buttn) Buttn pressed: when the buttn n psitiner is pressed the bx is checked Buttn stuck: buttn is being pressed fr lnger time and is prbably stuck A/B end switch pressed: mtr is at the end reference psitin A/B lsing hall impulses: psitin feedback sensr signal n specific Mtr des nt match the actual ne. A&B async: Only in synchrnus run mde. If»A-B asynch.diff«value is set and actuall difference between A and B exceed this value the flag appears and the mtrs stp. Lw sun radiatin (Refers t Slar ptical sensr) / Stp & Clear input / Wind input (7): When pin 7 n range plug is cnnected t GND, flag appears. Fr mre infrmatin see title Optins tab, chapter 42. Crdinate mde Means which crdinate system astrnmic equatins are used. Generally used is Azimuth-Elevatin system (AE), ther less knwn is Plar-Munt system (PM). Nte: If yu are using ur tracker, parameters are already set. Crdinate mdes 7 (Azimuth) and 8 (Elevatin) are used in mixed mtr systems, when ne mtr is slew drive and anther linear ne. When gemetry mdes 11 and 13 are in use, tracker's hrizntal psitin is 0 and vertical psitin is 90 (ppsite f ther gemetries). Gemetries Different trackers have different gemetries. Gemetry includes parameters A1-A6, B1, B2 and number f selected gemetry gemetry mde. Nte: If yu are using ur tracker, parameters are already set. D nt change anything. If yu have yur wn tracker, see Gemetry dcument available n ur web page r cntact ur technical supprt. If Gemetry mde is 0, axis is nt in use (disabled). It will nt be cntrlled. Gemetry mde parameters are fixed by purchasing cnditins. Cntact ur sales team t add additinal gemetries. Mtr A/B Crdinate mde 11 Crdinate mde 11 is calculating best trajectry fr ne-axis trackers. Whether trackers are Azimuth / Hur angle / Elevatin based, crrect Gemetry mde shuld be picked. Parameters are used fr anti-shadwing functin: - Deviatin (Azimuth / Hur angle nly): fixes physical deviatin, when tracker is nt pinted directly t suth at 0 (Rtatin parallel with earth, refer t page 20; scheme Crdinate mde 11 angle Beta) - Slpe f terrain (Elevatin nly): Useful fr pwerplants - mdifies anti-shadwing regarding terrain angle (Rtatin perpendicular t earth, refer t page 20; scheme Crdinate mde 11 angle Alpha) - Panel width (anti-shadwing functin): Width f full tracker surface - Panel spacing (anti-shadwing functin): Distance between trackers pillars - Panel safety width (anti-shadwing functin): Panel thickness Mving prperties Psitiner measures mtr mvement with hall incremental encder. Max range defines maximum permitted impulses, at which mtr will stp. Abve, mtr will be hard stpped. The same ges fr min range limit. Relatin between impulses and degrees (slew drives) r millimeters (linear mtrs) is defined by gear rati. Gear rati is cunted number f impulses by psitiner per ne degree r ne millimeter. Nte: In case f using ur tracker, parameters are already set. Inrush current rati, Inrush current time Inrush current time defines fr hw many millisecnds current higher than I mtr max is allwed. It is limited t I mtr max multiplied with Inrush current rati. This setting is useful in cld weather when mtrs cnsume mre current in startup. By default it is set t ur mtrs specificatins: Inrush current rati = 2.5 t 3 Inrush current time = 500-700 ms Nte that thse parameters will take effect in psitiners Micr with firmware 6.40 r higher and in psitiners TIV27x with firmware 6.58 r higher. Day mde time (Versins 6.57 and lwer) Is the time, when tracker starts tracking. Until then it waits in the night psitin. It can be set between 1:00 and 12:00. Page 10

Night mde time (Versins 6.57 and lwer) Is the time, when tracker stps tracking and ges t night psitin. It can be set between 14:00 and 23:00. As there is n mre Night mde time, sunrise can be delayed r sped up. Sunrise ffset (Versins 6.58 and higher) As there is n mre Day mde time, sunset can be delayed r sped up. Sunset ffset (Versins 6.58 and higher) Night psitin Is the psitin in degrees where the tracker will be parked during the night (between Sunset and Sunrise). This cause that the mtr A r B with disabled night psitin will nt mve t night psitin and it will stay at last psitin driven befre sunset r at last manually turned psitin. Yu can disable nly mtr A r mtr B, bth r nne. If yu disable B mtr, yu save ne cycle f lifetime f mtr each day. Fr example: By the tracker with 2 linear mtrs mdel ST44M3V15Pr ST44M2VxP, the night psitin fr mtr B can be disabled, because the psitin f the elevatin at sunset is practically same as the psitin f sunrise. This way the mtr at night is nt mving anywhere and save lifetime f mtr. Are serial numbers f slar tracker psitining mdule. SN1,2,3 Is ID number fr RS485 bus. The tracker will respnd nly t this number. RS485 Id Nte: changing ID during use f RS485 mde can cause cmmunicatin t be lst. Set prper ID via USB. Are vltage and current measuring factrs. Thse values are pre-set. U supply factr and I mtr factr RTC crrectin, Sft RTC crrectin Applies t real time clck divergence. If time is faster r slwer than real slar time (expected difference is less then a minute per mnth), than yu can set this value t crrect this divergence. Value means add r subtract inserted secnds per a day. Checked n parameter "RTC Sftware" at the ptins TAB means that when 24V pwer is present shall run "Sft RTC crrectin" but when 24V pwer is nt present, the "RTC crrectin". Synchrnus mde Applies when bth mtrs are suppsed t run parallelly int a specific directin (useful when ne cntrlling unit is used t cntrl tw 1-axis trackers). The value is maximall permitted diferrence (impulses). H/V default target angle Applies t Helistats nly. Parameters define hrizntal and vertical angle at which slar tracker sees the target. Target is the pint in a frnt f the tracker, where yu want t have a spt. Psitive angles are up frm the hrizn (vertical directin) and west frm the suth (hrizntal directin). Negative are belw the hrizn (vertical directin) and east frm the suth (hrizntal directin). Nte: Fr tracker t perate as Helistat, check Helistat in Optins tab and set crrect Crdinate mde in Advanced parameters tab. H/V target angle 2/3, Helistat perid 2/3 start/end If yu desire seperate targets in different slices f the day, insert target angle and starting and ending time f day's perid. Sensrs tab Under tab Sensrs fcus, wind, snw sensr and ver temperature sensrs are cnfigured. Sensrs are enabled in the Optins tab. Page 11

Slar Optical sensr functin is enabled under tab Optins. Fcus Slar Optical sensr r Fcus sensr is fine-tuning-nly sensr t eliminate mechanical tlerances made by installatin and therefre tracker achieves better accuracy. It is essential fr cncetratr applicatins. Sensr utputs are direct misalignment readuts fr bth axis. Expected values are frm 0 t app 2000 (@24VDC pwering). Accrding t the Middle values, ffsets are incremented r decremented slwly t get sensr utput values mre r less equal t middle values. Offsets will be added t the tracker s angles. When parameter Fcus sensr in use is checked, new parameter will appear in Service line under tab Mnitr: F:seek r F:avg. In clear weather system checks every minute hw much is it ut f fcus and adapts Offset in such manner. F:seek will appear in Service line. In the meantime it averages tracking trajectry with latest ffset. F:avg will appear in service line. Maximum ffset parameter defines at which angle deviatin the system will still find sun fcus. When using Slar ptical sensr fr the first time, make sure weather is clear. Set parameter Max ffset t 10.0 and bserve what is maximum angle deviatin in the mrning and in the evening (Offset A/B). Then insert maximum angle deviatin int parameter Max ffset, increased by 1.0 (if maximum deviatin thrugh day was 2.4, set it t 3.4 ). When weather is nt cmpletely clear the sensr cannt functin prperly and withut Lw sun radiatn sensr tracker ges int previusly set Maximum ffset negative psitin. If yu have Lw sun radiatin sensr installed (pin dide with switch, which pulls t GND when radiatin is lw), system detects it and tracks with last Offset A/B. F:avg will appear in Service line. Lw radiatin sensr shuld be plugged int range cnnectr, pin N. 7 (previusly A_end_switch_2). Lw radiatin sensr shuld pull dwn t GND when triggered. Wind sensr feature is enabled under tab Optins. Wind If the wind is strng it can damage the tracker. Therefre it is suitable t mve panels int wind save angle A/ B (usually in cmpletely hrizntal psitin), when the wind speed exceeds speed threshld fr the first time. After getting t wind save psitin, psitiner will wait fall time lng until ging back t nrmal peratin. If wind speed exceeds the speed threshld again, a new fall time perid must be waited. Wind speed is utput data f the measuring wind speed. Cnversin factr is factr f wind sensr meaning hw much speed causes 1 revlutin per secnd (at impulse types) r hw much speed causes 1 vlt. Sensr must be f impulse type with n additinal resistr by the reed switch (nt current lp 4-20mA impulses utput type). Attentin: There are tw different wind sensr types n market, prvided by SAT CONTROL. Older versin with Cnv. Factr = 1.22 and wired n 2 wires (until December 2013) and new versin (frm January 2014) with Cnv. Factr = 2.44 and wired n 3 wires. New versin als includes a label with parameter Cnv. Factr and lder versin des nt (blank). Hint: Yu can enable wind mde n ne axis nly by setting the Wind safe angle f ther axis t ff. Wind mde is turned ff n axis A Snw Snw functin can be enabled under tab Optins. When Snw sensr is enabled, Overtemperature shift is disabled. Page 12

When snw sensr is activated, the tracker will mve int snw clean angle A and B s snw slides dwn (nrmally in nearly vertical psitin). If wind mde is activated, snw mde will be disabled. Over temperature shift Over temperature shift is enabled under tab Optins. When Over temeprature shift is enabled, Snw sensr is disabled. In sme applicatins it is necessary t shift panel ut f ideal psitin t lwer the tempeature. Tracking is still enabled but shifted fr an Over temperature shift A and B angle. When temperature drps the sensr is being switched ff and the tracker will g int nrmal tracking after the Over temp shift time ut runs ut. Optins tab Cnfiguratin ptins flags Sensr flags are available fr the user. Here yu can turn n external sensrs: fcus sensr, wind sensr, snw sensr. Other flags refer t mechanical cnfiguratin fr which the mtr was made. Sme flags are mechanically depended and are nt meant t be changed by user (Axis flags). Optins Shw which additinal features and functins are available. Thse features are free f charge and are included by default. Stp & Clear input (7) enables the system t stp all mtrs by external buttn and clear any pssible errrs. Lw sun radiatin (refers t Slar ptical sensr): Lw sun radiatin sensr is enabled by leaving bxes Stp & Clear input and Wind secndary input unchecked. Slar ptical sensr is enabled in bx Fcus sensr in use under Cnfiguratin flags. If the sky is nt cmpletely clear, Slar ptical sensr cannt functin prperly and is switched ff. Refer t chapter 44 Fcus. Helistat Checked bx mean that helistat mde is allwed, but this des nt mean that will autmatically wrk as a helistat mde. When yu want t switch n the helistat mde yu need t setup the crdinate mde mtr A t 5 and crdinate mde mtr B t 6. Beside f this yu need t setup the reslutin 0.1 degree, time interval t 20 secnds and setup the at least default target r mre targets and mre perids.
