ENMC COMPETENCIES/ATTRIBUTIONS ENMC - Global Since 2013, ENMC (National Authority for Fuel Market) has became the central stockholding entity responsible for the constitution and maintenance of the strategic emergency stocks of oil and petroleum products. Additionally, ENMC assumed new responsibilities, such as: 1 2 3 4 Monitoring the fuels market, including crude oil, petroleum products and piped liquefied petroleum gas; Promoting the technical safety and fuel quality; Promoting biofuels and other renewable fuels, participating in the definition of new policies, in order to ensure consumer protection; Monitoring the prospection, research, development and exploitation of oil resources, as will be explained hereafter.
ENMC COMPETENCIES/ATTRIBUTIONS ENMC Petroleum Exploration and Production ENMC is responsible for technical matters regarding petroleum exploration and production: 1 2 3 4 5 Automated management, treatment and development of technical data and information resulting from petroleum exploration and production activities Promote the knowledge of areas with petroleum potential near the companies Negotiate and ensure the procedures for granting petroleum exploration and production rights Evaluate and approve work programs and technical projects and supervise activities during the contracts execution, ensuring that the legal dispositions and rules are followed Propose or collaborate in the elaboration of rules, technical specifications and regulations relative to petroleum exploration and production and follow the transposition of Directives in which DGEG is the sectorial competent authority

CENTRO PARA O CONHECIMENTO DO PETRÓLEO Summary The Centro para o Conhecimento do Petróleo of ENMC is a technical-scientific infrastructure which main mission is the petroleum technical data/information characterization, conservation, promotion and availability; The access to the geological, geochemical and geophysical data/information will allow the State, through ENMC, give a rapid and effective answer to diverse enquiries from the academic institutions and the petroleum industry; The development of the experimental teaching of science and petroleum geology dissemination will be obtained throught partnerships with schools and academic institutions.
