A Spool Example A spool has an inner radius r around which string is wound and an outer radius R on which it can roll. he string is pulled at an angle with the horizontal with tension. Assume that μ is large enough so that the spool does not slip. What value must be to prevent the spool from moving?

Example Consider the infinite pulley system below. All the masses m are held fixed and simultaneously released. What is the acceleration of the top mass?
