perormance NOTES This piece is a musical triute to the late Sir Malcolm Arnold one o the most notale English composers o our time Along An English Countryside should work wonderully to open your next concert! The opening eatures numerous soloists on the main theme Make sure the technique is clearly worked out with all soloists so that the theme is presented clearly y each one As in all pieces o a technical nature care must e taken to not rush the tempo and it is also very important that all players know when they DO NOT have the melody throughout the piece so that the proper hierarchy o parts is achieved The section o music at measure 41 should e played with the appropriate detached British style and players are encouraged to play every note with a staccato as light as well as separated At measure 77 make sure that the mallets and piano are clearly heard and y all means please use a piano when perorming the work!
