Page 5 of 9 Private Sete Cidades and Lagoa do Fogo FD Tour Today you will discover one of the seven wonders of Portugal, "Sete Cidades" You will depart from Ponta Delgada towards Vista do Rei viewpoint. On the way you will have the opportunity to visit and discover some smaller lagoons such as Lagoa das Empadadas and Lagoa do Canário, before you get to the viewpoint where you can view the magnificent Lagoa das Sete Cidades. After driving along the dirt road that surrounds the rim of the volcanic structure, you will descend to the Sete Cidades village and have a short stop near the church of São Nicolau. Enjoy Lunch at a local traditional restaurant. Prior to returning to Ponta Delgada, we will have the opportunity to visit Lagoa do Fogo or (Fire Lake), undoubtedly one of the grandest nature attractions of the Azores. *Note Visits to Sete Cidades and Lagoa Do Fogo will be dependent on weather conditions. Lunch; August 6 - Furnas Tour Private Tour-Furnas Full Day Tour, with Traditional "Cozido" Lunch Departures to Lagoa do Fogo driving by the south side of the island towards Barrosa Mountain. Stop at the belvederes to admire not only the beautiful quiet lake, but also the landscape of the surroundings. The descent will be by the north side to reach the city of Ribeira Grande where the clients will have the opportunity to observe the Barroco Architecture from the XVII and XVIII centuries. The drive goes on by the north coast making stops at belvedere of Sta Iria, tea plantations of Gorreana, the oldesta and currently only active tea plantation in Europe, visit the belvedere of Pico de Ferro. From this last belvedere, can be observed the biggest and oldest volcanic crater at the bottom of which lies Furnas lake and the spas of Furnas valley are located. Once in Furnas lunch (included) will be served, the famous "Cozido nas caldeiras. Along the south coast we will make a stop at belvedere of Caloura and will drive by the town of Lagoa before returning to Ponta Delgada. All Entrance fees included.
Page 6 of 9 Lunch; August 7 - Leisure Day in Ponta Delgada Leisure Day in Ponta Delgada Enjoy the charming city of Ponta Delgada, the main commercial center and port, is quite charming, featuring sidewalks paved with black and white volcanic stones in distinctive patterns. Many buildings have whitewashed facades with brown-black window trim and reddish pipe roofs. From the cruise terminal, walk ahead to Avenida do Infante Dom Henrique and then left along the harbor front, lined with stores, cafes and restaurants. At the Praca GV Cabal, the square is enclosed on three sides and dominated by whitewashed, triple-arched town gates, trimmed in black volcanic stone, and a handsome, tall, square clock tower. Enjoy one of its many traditional restaurants and cafes along the main avenue bordering the Atlantic Ocean.
Page 7 of 9 August 8 - Nordeste and Povoacao Tour Full day Nordeste and Povoação Tour The Eastern part of São Miguel is considered the best kept secret of the island. The oldest part of the island is known for its beautiful gardens, which are worth visiting and view from them is breath-taking! For many the eastern part of the island is the most beautiful part of São Miguel Island. During the tour of Nordeste we visit the waterfall of Achada; next to the waterfall is an old mill, a picnic area, souvenir shop and café. In the village of Nordeste we will have our lunch (included) and explore village. From Nordeste we continue further to the south-east part of the island to Povoaçao, the first town to be settled in Sao Miguel. During our drive, we will enjoy stunning viewpoints over the Blue waters of the Altantic. In Povoaçao Village we will have time for a short walk around the city, enjoy a coffee break and local pastries. We head back to Ponta Delgada via the scenic South Coast of the Island. Lunch; August 9 - Quinta das Raiadas Tour Quinta das Raiadas Tour Start this day by being driven by a horse chariot around the village of Ginetes, where you will be able to experiment the rural life that the Azorean people used to have. You will make a stop at the "Escalvado" belvedere and "Ilha Sabrina Belvedere". After visit the "Massa" House, where you will learn how to make bread and to milk a cow!
