: Tràigh an Tobair Fhuair to Meall Lamalum This map section stretches along s west coast from Tràigh an Tobair Fhuair to Meall Lamalum. The entire coastline comprises a rock platform, with the exception of the beaches at Tràigh an Tobair Fhuair and Port Mór. Evidence of erosion was noted at this beach, the rest of the coast was stable. 19 new sites out of a total of 26 archaeological sites were identified during the survey. The prehistoric/early historic dun site at Tobar Fuar (148) is a Scheduled Ancient Monument. This site is in good condition. Another possible prehistoric site is the hut circle and cultivation remains at Druim nan Faoileann (167). Burial sites in the area include cists of indeterminate date at Lower Kilchattan (155) and Viking burials at Tràigh an Tobair Fhuair (145). More modern maritime sites include a cleared way (154) and a boat landing area and two harbour walls (156) and (157) at Port Mór. Possible bait holes (158) of indeterminate dates were also located at Port Mór. 104

A flat surface grading into golf course. Description A sandy embayment with some steep banks with gravel on the south shore, otherwise a sandy beach that grades into windblown sand at its head. The shore edge is undercut in parts of the bay and has been eroding, although in other areas shoreline is of a depositional/non erosional nature. Some ridged areas in the centre of the bay suggestive of former dune accumulation. ID 21. Description Rocky coastline with several promontories. Fronted by rock platform and many offshore reefs. ID 22. Description Boulder beach at the head of a small embayment name Port Mor. Wellrounded cobbles at head from 5-25cm diameter and clearly mobile. Lower part of beach formed of larger, but dispersed, boulders up to 40cm diameter but probably fairly inactive since they are all weed covered at base of beach. Raised beach gravels rise above beach or are exposed at elevations of 25m. Road forms inland margin to beach. 111
