April 2012 in the Parkhotel Sokolov Dear colleagues, We would like to invite you to the 12 th International Conference State of geomorphological research in 2012, which will be organized by the Department of Engineering Geology, Institute of Rock Structure and Mechanics CAS, v.v.i., Prague. The conference venue is situated in the geodynamical most active region of the Bohemian massif Podkrušnohorská Basin. We welcome contributions from geomorphologists and related disciplines dealing with landscape development and its forming processes. We hope the conference will be pleasant and inspiring for you, also thanks to the post conference field trip to the Chebská pánev Basin with Quaternary volcanism and recent seismic activity. 1

Further information Conference venue: Parkhotel Sokolov is located inside the castle park called Husovy sady in Sokolov town. The address is Husovy sady 2044, 35601 Sokolov.http://www.parkhotel sokolov.cz/hotel sokolov Equipment of the conference rooms: PC and data projector will be available in all conference rooms. Conference language: Oral presentation should be prepared in English using the PowerPoint and could be presented in Czech, Slovak, Polish or English. Registration and costs: Registration should be accomplished by filling online registration form on the conference website http://cag.tecnet.cz, where you can find all the information. After sending the registration each participant will obtain an automatic confirming e mail with the total amount and payment information including the own variable symbol. Conference fee is for members of the Czech Association of Geomorphologists (CAG) 950 CZK, for student members it is 450 CZK (they have to present the undergraduate or postgraduate student status at the registration), for non members 1200 CZK, for student non members 600 CZK (they have to present the undergraduate or postgraduate student status at the registration). The conference fee covers copy of the conference abstracts, rental of the conference rooms, refreshments during the conference and the closing dinner. The price of the field trip is 150 CZK. The price includes bus and entrance fee into National Nature Reservation Soos near Františkovy Lázně. If there are not enough registered participants, own cars will be used for the field trip, the field trip fee will be return and the entrance fee will be paid on the spot. Accommodation in the Parkhotel Sokolov costs between 400 700 CZK depending on the room type, which is a participant s choice. However, the available number of respective types of room is limited. Reservation of accommodation is binding. 3

From the station it is approximately 7 min. on foot or you can reach it by public transport. The abstract should be written in a correct and explicit English and must contain: the title of the contribution, names of the authors and their affiliations including e-mails. The abstract should have standard formatting (i.e. in Times New Roman font, size 12, spacing 1 and lateral spaces of 2,5). The text of the abstract should contain about 300-500 words (without references) and 3-6 keywords, may be structured into paragraphs and should be (together with the title, authors names, affiliation and keywords) no longer than one standard A4 page. The abstract should be submitted in *.doc format, where the asterisk stands for the surname of the first author. In the case one author wants to submit more than one abstract, these should be numbered (e.g. kolik_1.doc, kolik_2.doc, etc.).
