SECOND ANNOUNCEMENT VIII. CONGRESS OF CROATIAN AND HUNGARIAN GEOMATHEMATICIANS & XIX. CONGRESS OF HUNGARIAN GEOMATHEMATICIANS (www.cro-hu-geomath.com) 26 th 28 th of May, Trakošćan, Croatia 1

Organizers Croatian Geological Society (Hrvatsko geološko društvo) http://www.geologija.hr Geomathematical Section (Geomatematički odsjek) http://www.geologija.hr/geomat.php Hungarian Geological Society (Magyarhoni Földtani Társulat) http://www.foldtan.hu/ Geomathematical Section (Geomatematikai Szakosztály) https://www.smartportal.hu/ Faculty of Mining, Geology and Petroleum Engineering (Rudarsko-geološko-naftni fakultet) http://www.rgn.hr 2

Invitation On behalf of Organizing Committee, it is my pleasure to invite you the 8 th Congress of Croatian and Hungarian Geomathematicians & 19 th Congress of Hungarian Geomathematicians (CCHG & CHG ). The conference will be held from 26 th to 29 th of May in Trakošćan, Croatia. The venue is the Hotel Trakošćan**** (http://www.hotel-trakoscan.hr) located near the historic castle Trakošćan (http://www.trakoscan.hr/index-en.html) in Croatian Zagorje region. For more information about the possibility of accommodation, please visit www.cro-hu-geomath.com. Traditionally, the congress is open to any contributions in application of mathematics in geosciences. These include spatial statistics and geostatistical methods, 3D modelling of natural objects, numerical simulations under uncertainty, space-time information systems, spatial data models and structures and remote sensing. Organizing Committee Ph.D. Marko Cvetković (chairman) Ph.D. Janina Horváth (co-chairman) Ph.D. Kristina Novak Zelenika (co-chairman) University of Zagreb, Faculty of Mining, Geology and Petroleum Engineering, Croatia University of Szeged, Department of Geology and Paleontology, Hungary INA Plc., Croatia 3

Scientific Committee Ph.D. János Geiger, Assistant Professor (chairman) Ph.D. Marko Cvetković Ph.D. Janina Horváth Ph.D. Kristina Novak Zelenika University of Szeged, Department of Geology and Paleontology, Hungary University of Zagreb, Faculty of Mining, Geology and Petroleum Engineering, Croatia University of Szeged, Department of Geology and Paleontology, Hungary INA Plc., Croatia Ph.D. István Gábor Hatvani Institute for Geological and Geochemical Research, MTA Research Center for Astronomy and Earth Sciences, Hungary Important Dates Early bird registration deadline: 18 th of March Submission of short abstract: 8 th of April Notification about acceptance 15 th of April Submission of extended abstract 6 th of May Duration of the scientific program 26 th 28 th of May 4

Call for Abstracts This Congress invites contributions for oral and poster presentation and publication in the conference proceedings. Official language of the Congress is English. Scope: Geomathematics - present and future of geological modelling" Submissions are welcome pertaining to the following themes: spatial statistics and geostatistical methods applied geomathematics and geostatistics 3D modelling of natural objects hydrogeological modelling reservoir and basin modelling numerical simulations under uncertainty space-time information systems spatial data models and structures remote sensing application of geomathematics in geological engineering Acceptance is based on short abstracts limited to 2000 characters, approximately half a page. Extended abstract is limited to 8 pages (instruction to authors will be available after 15th of February, on the Congress web site). All papers will be reviewed by the Scientific committee of the congress Short and extended abstract templates can be found on official congress web site (www.cro-hu-geomath.com). 5

IMPORTANT: We especially invite PhD, MSc and BSc students to attend the congress for popularization of the application of geomathematics in geosciences in general. However, there are specific rules for these kinds of submissions For BSc and MSc students: First author is a BSc or MSc student There can be multiple authors on the submitted abstract but only one professional co-author (including a PhD student) who is basically having a mentor role in a submitted work For PhD students: First author is a PhD student There are no limitations about co-authors. PhD students are indeed professionals but we acknowledge the importance of lack of funding which is evident in the past few years, especially in scientific research ***A special Issue of Journal Geologia Croatica (Online ISSN 1333-4875; IF2014 0.702; www.geologia-croatica.hr) is planned for 2017 which will cover the applications of geomathematics in geology from this year s congress so if your research fits the scope you will be invited to submit extended and reworked congress contribution. All of these works will undergo Journals standard review process and attendance to the Congress does not ensure the publication in Geologia Croatica. Not sure if your research fits the scope? Please check the previous Conference proceedings on Opatija, 2012 Opatija, 2014 Morahalom, 2015 6

Registration Registration can be done via the official Congress web site (www.cro-hugeomath.com). Registration fees include attendance to the conference, publishing the abstract in the printed congress book, coffee breaks conference excursion (confirmed after 15 th of March ) and two congress dinners. Conference fees do not include accommodation. IMPORTANT Registration fees for authors with oral and poster presentations have to be paid before 6 th of May, Registration fees: Early registration In time registration Late registration (before 18 th of (between 18 th of (after 6 th of May, March, ) March and 6 th of ) May, ) Member of CGS, 1520.00 HRK / 1900.00 HRK / 2280.00 HRK / HGS or SPE 200.00 250.00 300.00 Non-member of 1900.00 HRK / 2280.00 HRK / 1140.00 HRK / CGS, HGS or SPE 250.00 300.00 150.00 Student CGS, HGS 760.00 HRK / 950.00 HRK / 2660.00 HRK / or SPE member 100.00 125.00 350.00 Student non- 950.00 HRK / 1140.00 HRK / 1330.00 HRK / member of CGS, 125.00 150.00 175.00 HGS or SPE Payments in EUR are to be made via the bank account data: Zagrebačka banka dd Trg bana Jelačića 10 10000 Zagreb SWIFT CODE: ZABAHR2X IBAN: HR3823600001101551668 7
