SuperCELL Data Programmer and ACTiSys IR Programmer User s Guide The ACTiSys IR Programmer and SuperCELL Data Programmer software are used together as tools allowing the User to configure various adjustable parameters of the Grace Industries SuperCELL Emergency Signaling and Monitoring device. These tools can be used to setup many operational attributes of the SuperCELL including: User display Names, Custom Messages, Location names & messages, plus allows customizing various operating modes of the SuperCELL device such as ID group monitoring along with audible and visual alert modes. Installation of ACTiSYS USB Drivers and Connection of the IR Programmer WARNING!!! DO NOT plug in the IR programmer until AFTER the USB drivers have been installed. ACTiSYS USB Driver Installation and Setup Procedure 1. Instructions for installing USB driver for the ACTiSYS IR programmer can be found by inserting the USB fl ash drive that accompanies the programmer and selecting Open folder to view files. 2. Select and open the ACTiSYS Install folder. 3. Selecting ACT-IRx24UN-LX-Lx-LE-QuickGuide-v1.3.3-130131 will provide installation instructions for most Windows applications. Selecting ACT-IRx24UN-Lx_Le-LE-Manual-v1.3.3-130131 will provide the full ACTiSYS IR Programmer user s manual. 2

SuperCELL Data Programmer Installation Procedure SuperCELL Data Programmer can be installed using 1 of 2 methods: Method 1. By downloading the program from the Grace Industries website. Method 2. From the In-Command or Grace-Watch Installation USB fl ash drive. Method 1 - Website Download: 1. Open your web browser and navigate to http://www.graceindustries.info/utilityapps/ 2. Left-click on SuperCELL Database Manager. 3. When prompted, select RUN. 3

4. You will be asked, Do you want to allow the following program from an unknown publisher to make changes to this computer? Select Yes. 5. You will be asked to agree to the licenses, terms and conditions before you can install SCDataProg. Once read, if you agree to the terms and conditions, left-click inside the check box and left-click INSTALL. 6. When prompted, left-click Finish. 7. The SuperCELL Data Programmer is now installed and a shortcut has been added to your PC desktop. 4

Method 2 - In-Command or Grace-Watch Installation Flash Drive: 1. Insert the Installation USB fl ash drive. 2. When prompted, select Open folder to view files (or manually go to USB fl ash drive directory) and select ICLaunch.exe or GCLaunch.exe 3. When you have the option, left-click the Install button for SuperCELL Names. 5

4. You will be asked, Do you want to allow the following program from an unknown publisher to make changes to this computer? Select Yes. 5. You will be asked to agree to the licenses, terms and conditions before you can install SCDataProg. Once read, if you agree to the terms and conditions, left-click inside the check box and left-click INSTALL. 6. When prompted, left-click Finish. 7. The SuperCELL Data Programmer is now installed and a shortcut has been added to your desktop. 6

SuperCELL Data Programmer User s Guide Double left-click the SuperCELL Data Programmer icon to open the program. When the program opens you will see the following on the home page: File: Allows user to close the program. Configure: Allows setup of the appropriate COM port to use the ACTiSYS IR programmer. Home: Reverts back to the home page. Name Programming: Allows names associated with various devices to be programmed into the SuperCELL for monitoring. Message Programming: Allows for confi guration of the canned messages that are sent to and from the SuperCELL. Location Programming: Allows the names associated with individual locators to be programmed into the SuperCELL. System ID Filtering: Allows the user to include or exclude system ID groups to be monitored by the SuperCELL. Device Settings: Allows a series of parameters to be set on the SuperCELL. Log: Allows for viewing of the SuperCELL data/event log. 7

1. File: When the File tab is selected, a dropdown box appears to close the program. 2. Configure: When the Configure tab is selected, a window opens allowing the user to select their IR Dongle (Programmer) Model, found on the back of the ACTiSYS IR programmer, and the serial/com port used, from a pair of dropdown menus. Your settings might not match those pictured. 3. Home: When the Home button is selected, the program will return to the home screen. 4. Name Programming: Allows names to be programmed into the SuperCELL for devices being monitored by the SuperCELL. 8

A. Edit Mode: Allows editing of the Group, User ID, and Name fi elds. Groups must be in the range of 00-FF (hexadecimal), User ID s must be in the range of 1-99, and Names are limited to 16 characters. B. Selection Mode: Allows user to select which names are to be loaded into the SuperCell. C. Clear Name Data: Clears the entered data in all fi elds. D. Import Names From File: Allows the loading of names from a fi le, forgoing the manual entry of names. E. Import From In-Command: Allows names that have already been entered into In-Command to be entered into the fi elds, forgoing the manual entry of names. F. Import From Grace-Watch: Allows names that have already been entered into Grace-Watch to be entered into the fi elds, forgoing the manual entry of names. G. Save Names To File: Allows names that have been entered into the fi elds to be saved onto the user s PC, fl ash drive, etc. NOTE: Read Transferring Data onto SuperCELL (on page 16) before Syncing. H. Sync All Names: When in Edit Mode, pressing Sync All Names loads all entered names onto the SuperCELL. I. Sync Selected Names: When in Selection Mode, pressing Sync Selected Names loads user selected names onto the SuperCELL. 9

5. Message Programming: Allows for confi guration of the canned messages that are sent to and from the SuperCELL. A. Edit Mode: Allows editing of messages in the Text Message fi eld. Text Messages are limited to 15 characters. B. Selection Mode: Allows user to select which canned messages are to be loaded into the SuperCELL. C. Clear/Reset Messages: Clears entered data in all fi elds. D. Import Msg s From File: Allows loading of canned messages from a fi le, forgoing the manual entry of canned messages. E. Import From In-Command: Allows canned messages that have already been entered into In-Command to be entered into the fi elds, forgoing the manual entry of canned messages. F. Import From Grace-Watch: Allows canned messages that have already been entered into Grace-Watch to be entered into the fi elds, forgoing the manual entry of canned messages. G. Save Msg s To File: Allows canned messages that have been entered into the fi elds to be saved onto the user s PC, fl ash drive, etc. NOTE: Read Transferring Data onto SuperCELL (on page 16) before Syncing. H. Sync All Msg s: When in Edit Mode, pressing Sync All Msg s loads all of the entered canned messages onto the SuperCELL. I. Sync Selected Msg s: When in Selection Mode, pressing Sync Selected Msg s loads user selected canned messages onto the SuperCELL. 10

6. Location Programming: Allows for configuration of the locator names stored on the SuperCELL. A. Edit Mode: Allows editing of the location names in the Location Name fi eld. Location names are limited to 20 characters. B. Selection Mode: Allows user to select which location names are to be loaded into the SuperCELL. C. Clear Locations: Clears the entered data in all fields. D. Import Locations From File: Allows the loading of location names from a fi le, forgoing the manual entry of location names. E. Import From In-Command: Allows location names that have already been entered into In-Command to be entered into the fi elds, forgoing the manual entry of location names. F. Import From Grace-Watch: Allows location names that have already been entered into Grace-Watch to be entered into the fi elds, forgoing the manual entry of location names. G. Save Locations To File: Allows location names that have been entered into the fi elds to be saved onto the user s PC, fl ash drive, etc. NOTE: Read Transferring Data onto SuperCELL (on page 16) before Syncing. H. Sync All Locations: When in Edit Mode, pressing Sync All Locations loads all of the entered location names onto the SuperCELL. I. Sync Selected Locations: When in Selection Mode, pressing Sync Selected Locations loads user selected canned messages onto the SuperCELL. 11

7. System ID Filtering: Allows user to include or exclude System ID groups to be monitored by the SuperCELL. A. System Block/Groups To Monitor: Left-clicking blocks in the System Block/Groups To Monitor checks or unchecks each block. Checked blocks will be monitored, unchecked blocks will not be monitored by the SuperCELL. B. Check All: Left-clicking the Check All box adds a check to all boxes in the fi eld. C. Row: Left-clicking any of the Row boxes adds a check to all ID s in that particular row. D. Import Groups From File: Allows loading of fi ltered groups from a fi le, forgoing the manual entry fi ltered groups. E. Save Groups To File: Allows groups that have been entered into the fi elds to be saved onto the user s PC, fl ash drive, etc. NOTE: Read Transferring Data onto SuperCELL (on page 16) before Syncing. F. Sync Groups To Device: Allows user to load groups to be monitored onto the SuperCELL. 12

8. Device Settings: Allows user to set various parameters of the SuperCELL. A. Set System and User ID: Allows user to set/change the System ID and/or User ID of the SuperCELL. System ID is in hexadecimal. User ID is in decimal. B. Set Device Name: Allows user to set/change the name displayed in the SuperCELL. (This name can be 16 characters long.) C. Set Hotkey (*): Allows user to assign a specifi c canned message to be sent by pressing, and holding for three seconds, the * hotkey. D. Set Hotkey (#): Allows user to assign a specifi c canned message to be sent by pressing, and holding for three seconds, the # hotkey. E. Set Miscellaneous Device Options: Left-clicking blocks in the Set Miscellaneous Device Options fi eld allows user to set/change a series of parameters on the SuperCELL. a. Enable Audio (Excludes Power Up and Power Down): Allows user to enable and disable all of the audio prompts, tones, and alerts. Power up and power down audio tones cannot be disabled. b. Enable Inhibit Timer: Allows user to enable and disable the inhibit timers. Inhibit timer prohibits the SuperCELL from receiving a PAR, Roll Call, or Evacuate message for a period of 1 minute after receiving the initial message. Alarm or canned messages have a 30 second inhibit timer. c. Enable Audio When Pressing Alarm: Allows user to enable or disable the alarm audio tone. NOTE: if the Enable Audio function is disabled, there will be no audible alarm tones even if the Alarm Button Sound is enabled. (continued.. next page). 13

8. E. d. Enable Backlight: Allows user to enable and disable the red/green display backlight. e. Load all Names and Messages with Default Values: Allows user to load default names and messages onto the SuperCELL, rather than leaving them blank. f. Erase all Names and Messages: Allows user to erase all names and messages stored onto the SuperCELL, leaving them blank. F. Enable/Disable Setup Mode Menu s: Left-clicking blocks in the Enable/Disable Setup Mode Menu s fi eld allows the user to hide or display these listed menus contained in the setup mode of a SuperCELL. Checked blocks will enable that menu to be displayed, unchecked blocks will hide that menu on the SuperCELL. a. Check All: Left-clicking the Check All block adds or removes checks to every block in the Enable/Disable Setup Mode Menu s fi eld. G. Load Defaults: Resets settings in the Set Miscellaneous Device Options fi elds to their default settings. H. Import Settings From File: Allows user to load settings from a fi le. I. Save Settings To File: Allows the settings that have been entered into the fi elds to be saved onto the user s PC, fl ash drive, etc. NOTE: Read Transferring Data onto SuperCELL (on page 16) before Syncing. J. Sync Device Settings: Allows the user to load the settings onto SuperCELL. 14

9. Log: Allows user to look at the logged events that have taken place on the SuperCELL Data Programmer during the user s session. A. Clear Log: Allows user to clear the IR Activity Log of the SuperCELL Data Programmer. B. Save Log To File: Allows the IR Activity Log to be saved onto the user s PC, fl ash drive, etc. 15

Transferring Data onto the SuperCELL WARNING!!! The SuperCELL WILL NOT send or receive ANY messages during this process. When transferring data using the IR programmer, follow these steps: 1. Press the MENU/PWR button to navigate to the Setup Mode entry page. 2. Hold SEL/PWR button for three seconds to enter Setup Mode. 3. Press the MENU/PWR button to navigate to the IRDA Transfer entry page. 4. Hold SEL/PWR button for three seconds to enter IRDA Transfer Mode. 16

5. Position SuperCELL and the IR programmer as seen below. 6. Left-click the Sync button that appears in the lower right-hand corner of the SuperCELL Data Programmer window to transfer the settings onto the SuperCELL.* NOTE: When Load all Names and Messages with Default Values, or Erase all Names and Messages is selected and synced with SuperCELL, the SuperCELL will display a status bar that indicates the level of completion of the load or erase process. WARNING: Everything you have entered (Names and Message) will be erased if you choose to Load the Default Values or to Erase all Names and Messages. 7. Reset SuperCELL by simultaneously pressing the MENU/PWR and SEL/PWR buttons. 17
