2 0 1 8 ISSU E 2 JU N E H A M LET A W ORD FROM OUR DEVELOPM ENT TEAM All teams have settled into the season with coaching and manager structure in place and it is great to see such energy and enthusiasm at training every Tuesday night. The coaches are in constant contact with the Development Unit regarding players, training sessions, game results and the communication is fantastic. Now we are past the initial part of the season, WDNA have indicated there will be no further regrading of teams/divisions. We know for some teams this means you are playing against Hamersley more than once a round during the season. This is a fantastic opportunity for younger teams to be challenged against more experienced Hamersley teams and for the older teams to be challenged by our developing players. From a club perspective we are positive that when Hamersley plays Hamersley there is a health rivalry and a good strong game of netball played in good sporting spirit. Remember that whenever players pull on a Hamersley uniform they are striving to?be the best they can be? and putting their best foot forward and presenting their best on court. Parents and spectators are also representing Hamersley and we have been delighted with the positive energy coming from the sidelines over the first few games. Remember that the coaches are there to coach so all cheering is best done with general commentary of well done and Go Hammers. It can be confusing if players have too many instructions so we appreciate positive cheering and feedback to your daughters post game (regardless of the outcome of the game). A great night was had on Tuesday 22 May at the Super Specialist Night, and a huge thank you to Lyn Pemberton who coordinated the coaches and arranged the fixtures. A big success with junior players experiencing working in specialist court groups with different coaches and senior players embarking on a competitive and fun round robin with players of all ages split up amongst the teams, and some awesome inter club bonding taking place. Parents and Athletes? regardless of where an injury occurs (even if it?s at school or at home), please report this to your team coach. The team coach will then use the Physio Modelling report form on the Website. It is also critical when you have been given a clearance by your physio or doctor that you send a copy to the coach. The coach will notify Dave and Lyn that the athlete has been cleared. Please don?t just verbally report to the team coach. We are excited to announce that we will be holding our inaugural Hamersley Netball Club raffle this year, where all proceeds will be spent developing both the club and its members. The raffle will commence on Tu esday 12 Ju n e 2018, with the ticket books to be handed out at training that night. Each family will be given one book of 20 tickets, with each ticket selling for $2. We have some fantastic prizes and are lucky to have some great sponsors supporting our club. In addition, there will also be prizes for the families who sell the most tickets.
