Since 1 + 5 2013 is even, it is divisible by 2. But it is not divisible by 4, so the highest power of 2 is 2 2013 2 = 2 2014. To see that 5 2013 is not divisible by 4, note that 5 2013 = (1 + 4) 2013 is a polynomial in 4 with constant term 1. 2. It is the year 2014, and Gracie just happens to have 2014 pennies. She uses these pennies to buy Q items, each item costing P pennies. She has 14 pennies left over. How many possibilities are there for the price P?
