For Immediate Release Pre-Book: 1/24/12 Street: 2/7/12 Venice, CA 90291 TMW MEDIA GROUP, INC. RELEASES THE WONDERS OF ASTRONOMY & SPACE SHOW ME SCIENCE ALL ABOUT US & THE UNIVERSE WE LIVE IN Show Me Science is an excellent in-class, library or home schooling tool for introducing the wonders of science. Comprised of over 90 programs and grouped into coherent subject areas of 8-16 titles each, Show Me Science covers animal life, astronomy, biology, chemistry, health science, earth science, technology, environmental sciences and physics. Each title uses incredible visuals to help build a solid understanding of the scientific discipline behind the topic. The programs also show everyday real life application of each topic and how we are all affected by advancements in science and technology. NEW THE WONDERS OF ASTRONOMY & SPACE SERIES The 6-title Wonders of Astronomy & Space series covers subjects from our solar system and space exploration to astronomy and the Sun. Students will develop a basic understanding of the fundamentals of Astronomy and work their way up to more complex subjects.

Produced in cooperation with an advisory board of top educators, curriculum specialists and administrators Astronomy: The Sky Isn't Falling Exploring Our Solar System The Sun: Heat, Light & Life Space Exploration Comet Visitors from Space Space Science Studying Distant Pluto Grade Level: 4-9 and General Interest for Adults/All Audiences Program Features: Video Encyclopedia supported by engaging visuals along with Student Q & A Careers: Each program includes suggestions for careers in this field of study. Teachers Guide for each program available here Each teachers guide includes subject matter revision and suggestions on how to present material, questions to ask students, and class projects to help illustrate the key concepts. NEW Astronomy: The Sky Isn't Falling K4557DVD 14 min. UPC: 709629045576 $44.95 The sky, in fact the whole universe, is expanding, perhaps the result of the Big Bang, an event many cosmologists think took place about 15 billion years ago. The Big Bang Theory, which is the most widely accepted scientific explanation about the origin of the Universe, is a very complex subject. This program looks at the universe and explains the Big Bang theory in a way that is understandable to students. Terms Covered In This Edition Include: Cobe, Constellation, Cosmic Background Radiation, Doppler Effect, Galaxy, Microwaves, Milky Way, Prism, Spectrum Relevant Curriculum Areas: Astronomy, Cosmology, Engineering, General Science, Physics

NEW Exploring Our Solar System K4558DVD 14 min. UPC: 709629045583 $44.95 Embark on a journey which takes students from planet Earth to the outer fringes of our solar system. With the aid of cameras from various spacecraft, students get a close-up look at the planets in our solar system, from Mercury s cratered surface to Jupiter s huge red spot and Saturn s spectacular rings. Discover the mysteries and surprises of our solar system, our celestial home. Terms Covered In This Edition Include: Asteroid, Atmosphere, Galaxy, Geyser, Gravity, Nitrogen, Orbit, Planet, Solar System, Star, Volcano, Voyagers 1 & 2 Relevant Curriculum Areas: Astronomy, Earth Science, General Science, Geology, Meterology, Space Science NEW The Sun: Heat, Light & Life K4559DVD 13 min. UPC: 709629045590 $44.95 The Sun is our lifeline the source of most energy from our planet. The light and heat of the sun travels 93 million miles to Earth in just eight and a half minutes. Without the energy that comes from the sun, the Earth would be desolate. Without the sun s rays, the Earth would be dark and cold. Life as we know it would be impossible. Directly or indirectly, the sun furnishes most of the energy which supports life on Earth. This program explains some of the latest theories behind the raging nuclear reactions at the sun s core and how scientists are using instruments both in space and on Earth to study the sun. Terms Covered In This Edition Include: Corona, Gravity, Nuclear Fusion, Planet, Solar Eclipse, Star, Sunspots Relevant Curriculum Areas: Astronomy, Earth Science, Engineering, General Science, Nuclear Science, Physics, Space Science NEW Space Exploration K4560DVD 25 min. UPC: 709629045606 $44.95 Human minds have been dreaming of the sky and stars since we first became aware of our limitations. Our dreams have propelled us into orbit, to the moon and back and today we are expanding our horizons even further, making plans to build a lunar base and colonize the planet Mars. This program looks at the development of in space technology from building the International Space Station to terraforming Mars and mining the asteroids. Students learn how space exploration opens up a whole new world of possibilities. Terms Covered In This Edition Include: Compound, Deployed, Fusion, Hostile, Insulation, Lunar, Meteorites, Orbit, Radiation, Strains, Terraforming, Velocity Relevant Curriculum Areas: Astronomy, Biology, Botany, Chemistry, Computer Science, Earth Science, Physics, Physical Science NEW Comet Visitors from Space K4561DVD 10 min. UPC: 709629045613 $44.95

Comets have been causing fear in the minds of humans for millennia. Now spacecraft are helping us to understand what they are made of and how they behave. The time it takes for a comet to make one complete orbit around another object is known as the orbital period. The range of a comet s orbital period may be from a few years to hundreds of thousands of years. Short-period comets originate in the Kuiper belt, or its associated scattered disc, which lie beyond the orbit of Neptune. Longer-period comets are thought to originate in the Oort Cloud, a spherical cloud of icy bodies in the outer Solar System. Comets allow us to study what the solar system was like in its formative period. This program will help students understand why comets cause both fear and fascination. Terms Covered In This Edition Include: Comet, Halley s Comet, Kuiper Belt, Long Period Comet, Oort Cloud, Short Period Comet Relevant Curriculum Areas: Astronomer, Astronaut, Astrophysicist, Cosmologist, Engineer, Physicist NEW Space Science Studying Distant Pluto K4562DVD 10 min. UPC: 709629045620 $44.95 Scientists have been debating the planetary designation of Pluto ever since it was discovered in 1930. In this program, students are given a firsthand look at the scientific process that first classified Pluto as a planet and then reclassified it as a dwarf planet in 2006. Not all scientists are in agreement with this definition and the future may bring further reclassification. Also, students will learn the scientific process of categorizing a planet and details about this tiny world at the farthest reaches of our solar system. Terms Covered In This Edition Include: Astronomy, Charon, Eclipse, Ellipse, Kuiper Belt Relevant Curriculum Areas: Astronomy, Physics, Space Science For additional programming in our Show Me Science Series: Click Here Download our Online Catalog: Click Here View our Program Trailers Online: Click Here Digital Delivery - All our programming is available for both hard copy and digital delivery making it easier than ever to incorporate and use in lesson plans, student review and tutorials.
