An Outline of The Extended and Allied Families of Brigham Angell Holbrook and Hannah Cook Following is a simple outline of the different families to whom the descendants of Brigham Angell Holbrook and Hannah Cook are related. It is in alphabetical order and, with exception of the generational indicator to the upper right of each first name, does not follow any of the standard genealogical numbering systems. That journey on Brigham Angell s side takes us back to the early 1600 s; whereas in Hannah s case only to her parents. I m pretty certain the vast majority of my Holbrook cousins are aware of the prominent role Joseph Holbrook and some of our other ancestors played in early LDS/Mormon history. For those of you who haven t had the opportunity to research our ancestors beyond that eventful time period, I can assure you we have ancestors that played equally prominent roles in the settlement and expansion of America. One is that their father was Henry Hodgkins of England and the other is he was Henry Hoskins of Ireland. Whereas the true relationship cannot be accurately verified, I have elected to record Elizabeth as the first person of this Hodgkin in our lineage to have emigrated from England to Colonial America.

The name of George s 1 first wife is unknown, but she is said to have died at Leiden in 1609 or before. His second wife was Juliana Carpenter (1584-1665) and they were married at Leiden on 23 July 1612. The true date of birth of George 2 is uncertain. Some sources cite he was born in 1609 and others that he was born in either 1624 or 1625. Circumstantial evidence of a George 2 exists reflecting he was born in 1609/10 at Leyden to George 1 and his unidentified first wife. However, there is no documentation, or direct evidence, supporting that George 1 and Juliana had a child named George. Holbrook Book of Remembrance Pedigree Charts record the relationship but fails to provide evidence of the relationship. No known or cited source, that I am aware of, meets the standards of genealogical evidence to support the previously accepted and recorded lineage of George 1 - George 2 -Richard 3. For that reason, in my sketches I begin the Morton lineage with Richard.
