The White House This is a substantial, character family house with wellpresented accommodation throughout. The house is approached via electric gates off a private lane to a gravel turning area with double bay car port and stabling. The front door opens into an entrance hall and large conservatory fitted with automatic bespoke blinds, adjoining the well-fitted kitchen breakfast room with four oven AGA, granite work surface and sink with extensive views. The main accommodation is well laid out with a sitting room accessed from the kitchen with wood burning stove and double doors to the gardens, as well as a very elegant drawing room with fireplace with Jetmaster and large bay window giving views to the south and north, with two sets of double doors to the gardens. The booklined study, with open fireplace, enjoys extensive views to the north and south. On the first floor there is a magnificent master bedroom with panoramic views and two sets of double doors to a balcony. In all, the internal accommodation of the house is around 3,610 sq ft. Outside Immediately around the house are well-kept gardens laid out in such a way as to take advantage of the views. There is a swimming pool with electrically operated pool cover, numerous outbuildings, two garages and two stables. To the west, accessed by a newly planted treelined avenue, are the beautiful and extensive mature beech woods with hardcore paths for carriage driving. To the north there are three large post and railed paddocks with water troughs and a double field shelter. Also to the North is a small paddock and concrete area with electricity prepared for a horse walker. The house has external cameras with 4 different images available online through an app and special external security light monitoring system.

Situation The White House is situated on a no-through lane at the top of Dean Hill, situated mid-way between the villages of West Dean and Whiteparish on the Hampshire/Wiltshire border. The views are breathtaking, and on a clear day you can see as far as the Isle of Wight. S In Whiteparish there are two pubs, post office, school, church, riding school and doctors surgery. West Dean provides a convenience store/post Office, a high quality traditional butcher and delicatessen, several excellent restaurants as well as various specialist shops and art galleries. t More extensive facilities are available in Romsey, Salisbury and Winchester. For theatre lovers there is the Salisbury Playhouse, The Anvil in Basingstoke and The Mayflower in Southampton. The River Test is renowned for its chalk M In E There stream fishing and the surrounding countryside provides excellent walking. There is also sailing on the south coast and on the Solent. West Dean there is a main line station with services to Salisbury and beyond to the west, and Southampton and Portsmouth and beyond to the east. Further afield there are regular services to London Waterloo from Grateley station or Salisbury. is a wide selection of excellent schools in the area including Farleigh School, Leaden Hall, Chafyn Grove and the Cathedral School in Salisbury. For secondary education there is Goldolphin in Salisbury, Winchester College for boys and St Swithun s for girls to name but a few. There are village schools in West Tytherley and Whiteparish.

Proceed up the A36 passing Plaitford and Landford, and after a few miles at the traffic lights turn right onto the A27 signposted Whiteparish. In the middle of the village turn left into Dean Lane. This turns into Ashmore Lane sign-posted West Dean. On the top of the hill take the lane on your left hand side and The White House is the second property on your left. Take this lane over the downs and down again to a T-junction. Turn left onto North Lane and proceed through the village of West Tytherly into Dean Lane. Cross over the railway crossing in West Dean and on the edge of the village fork left into Ashmore Lane.
