Water Framework Directive Groundwater Monitoring Programme Site Information Kiltrough PWS ImagePath1: Kiltrough PWS\17_009_Kiltough_P1_SiteLo cation.jpg This monitoring point is a well that is part of the Kiltrough public water supply. There are two wells with an average total abstraction rate of just under 3,000 m³/d. County Council have prepared a source protection scheme report for this source. August 2011

After about 3 take right (in front of cement factory) and continue straight over the M1 motorway, pass the R108 crossing and drive for about 2.5. The entrance to the site is on the right-hand side (in direction of water tower) shortly before the roundabout on N1. The first well is situated directly behind the gate and the second is half way through to the water tower. General gradient Distances General gradient Distances (XL) applied to boreholes sourced in bedrock aquifers are constrained to estimate approximate limits based on data at the GSl. ln some cases they may be higher or lower depending on local conditions. Rk,, Lk Lm Ll, PI 225 m 150 m 60 m It is assumed that groundwater downgradient of a spring cannot flow back up to the spring, however a precautionary 30m buffer is generally applied which allows for instances where pumping under dry weather periods may induce a drawdown or where the ground may be sloping toward the spring from the downgradient side.
