Miles Paratus Wisconsin ARES/RACES has been invited to participate in a major statewide exercise Miles Paratus during the week of June 5-12.

5 Miles Paratus Wisconsin ARES/RACES has been invited to participate in a major statewide exercise Miles Paratus during the week of June This exercise will include many State Emergency Management departments, military, EMS, County and local Emergency Management agencies. ARES/RACES operators may be needed at their local area and to deploy to Volk Field, Fort McCoy and possibly other locations. If deployed to Volk Field and Ft McCoy, housing and food will be provided. More details we be available in January. Tune into the weekly WI ARES RACES HF net on Sunday Mornings at Mhz for updates. 6 New UHF Repeater in Iola By AC9F A new UHF repeater was turned on the first Saturday in November offering coverage in the Iola area and surrounding communities. It is a Kenwood TK 820 repeater, duplexers and a CAT 200 controller. The frequency is with a PL of dual squelch. The repeater is located at the Iola Fire station on the cellular tower, up 80 feet. The ½ hard line from the 8 bay antenna feeds the repeater. Future projects include IRLP and an amp. This project is financially supported by AC9F Chuck and KB9ZPK Brian. This is an open repeater for everyone to use and enjoy. Give it a try and let Chuck know how it sounds.
