2 Winter Wonderland I awake. I m freezing cold. I look out my window and there I see snowflakes falling, snow everywhere, where ever I look. I look I see a glossy sheet of snow. I run downstairs, smelling sweet pancakes, hash browns, eggs, sausage, and my favorite, bacon. I eat breakfast quickly. After I take care of my dishes, I put on my snow stuff. I first shovel the driveway. Then the sidewalk. Finally I call Nicole. She s my best friend. We had snowball fights, made forts, played Eskimo, and made snow angels, made a snowman, and his dog. And my favorite activity, making a snow record by making the biggest snow ball. I can t wait till the next winter! Once there were some animals. They looked so sick a boy named Charley found them. Charley told a farmer that he had found them. by Michael grade 1 by Margo by Cara By Aaron grade 1 by Jenna grade 5

Sparkling snow is everywhere here and there. Ice on the windows. You see your breath in the coldness. Strong winds blowing past you. Lots and lots of snow everywhere. Oh no it s time for school! Once upon a Christmas, I the little Elf Angelo, traveled through the dense snow lollipops passed the seven levels of the candy cane forest, through the sea of swirly-twirly gum drops and up the elevator of frosting. All of this was to help Santa prepare his sleigh on his midnight shift in Seattle. by Jacqueline grade 2 by Sylvia

5 By Saif grade 1 How to Build a Snowman This how you build a perfect snowman. First, you roll three snowballs, One large, one medium, and one small. Next, you stack the three snowballs smallest to largest. Then you get some buttons for the shirts, the mouth, and the eyes. You need a carrot for the nose. And for decorations a hat, gloves, and a scarf. Finally, you put everything in place and you have a perfect snowman. by Margo by Nicole

7 Snuggle Nice and warm Olly jolly Christmas Windy by Nicole by Olivia One cold winter day a little girl who lived in Illinois went to the lake by Erickson School to play in the snow. She saw a sign for a winter amusement park so she decided to run home and get her family. When she got home she told her sister and her sister said, Oh I ve heard about it and I don t want you going. But on opening day the little girl went to the amusement park. She saw this ride that was a roller coaster on the lake so she jumped into the last cart and they were off. All of a sudden she heard a splash so she looked down at the frozen lake and saw that it had cracked. And then her cart fell. She screamed for help and somebody went to help her.
