16 Last Winter Highlights Winter Highlights The state of Ohio had the warmest December on record in 2015, with an average temperature of 43.4 F (previous record was 39.4 F in 1982). As a whole, the state of Ohio averaged about half of its normal precipitation during the month of January. However, brief cold spells prevented the record warmth of December from repeating itself.
