3 August 24, 2015 Dear Parent/Guardian: The first meeting of the School Advisory Committee (SAC) for the Coral Springs Charter School will be held on, September 21, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in the school cafeteria. The SAC acts as a link between the school administration and the community. Its main purpose is to become actively involved in fostering the school s vision and mission. Nominations and elections will be held the evening of September 21st. Those parents elected to represent the SAC Committee will also be the parent representatives who sit on the School Advisory Board (SAB) for the City of Coral Springs. The SAB acts as an advisory to the governing board of the School. The governing board is the City Commission of the City of Coral Springs. The SAB meets the third of each month at 7:45 a.m. at City Hall. The SAC meets the third of each month in the school cafeteria. Elected members are expected to attend all meetings. Thank you for your participation. Sincerely, Gary Springer Principal

4 CSCS Drop off Procedures : Vehicles will enter CSCS via University Drive or Sample Road. The vehicles will follow the right lane and drop students off in the circle next to the sidewalk areas. All students will exit their vehicle from the passenger side onto the sidewalk. The left lane will remain open to allow for a continuous flow of traffic leaving the school. Once the student has exited, the vehicle will cautiously move into the left lane to leave. When a vehicle exits, all remaining cars must move up to fill the gap and allow more cars to enter the drop off line. Under no circumstances are parents to stop in the left lane to drop off a student. SAFETY of our students is PRIORITY ONE. All students must use the walkways. CSCS Pickup Procedures : Vehicles will enter CSCS property via University Drive or Sample Road. The vehicles will follow the right lane until they must stop directly behind the vehicle in front of them. Drivers may not leave their vehicles unattended. They must remain in their vehicles at all times. When the students are dismissed, they will go directly to their vehicle, enter from the passenger side via the walkways and immediately pull into the left lane to depart. When a vehicle exits, all remaining cars must move up to fill the gap and allow more cars to enter the pick up line. Under no circumstances are parents to stop in the left lane to pick up a student. SAFETY of our students is PRIORITY ONE. All students must use the walkways. Security personnel will be posted along the loading zone to insure the safety of our students and to maintain good traffic flow. We will ask the SRO to be available to assist. In addition, faculty will be assigned a post at the beginning and end of each day to assist. Parents may not park in the fire lane to escort tardy students or to pick up early dismissal students. Tickets will be issued to cars parked in the fire lane. Student Parking : Parking privileges are extended to students on a first come basis. Students may not park or operate any motorized vehicle on campus unless it has been registered by the school with an authorized parking decal. Students must park in their designated spot, with a decal that corresponds with the number on their parking place. Any student, who is parked illegally, will be assessed a parking ticket and may have their car towed at owner s expense. The school is not responsible for any loss or damage to automobiles or contents. If the student does not comply a second time, their parking privileges will be revoked. Please note : Visitor parking is located in the student lot. Spaces are marked. Students may not park in the visitor spaces. Faculty Parking : Only faculty and handicapped persons may park in the faculty lot or the parking garage. Parents and all other visitors must use the Visitor Lot for parking. Office and Administrative Staff : Parking for office and administrative staff will be located in the rear of the building. Specific parking spaces will be designated for office staff. Parking lot facilities will be swept by security personnel three times per day to insure compliance.
