1 PolarSync Quick Start Installation and Use In this Quick Start guide, we will cover installing the PolarSync program and using it as a teacher, student or guest. I. Installing PolarSync... 1 II. 2 I. Installing PolarSync PolarSync will be delivered as an attachment or can be downloaded from HealthySchools.net To install PolarSync, open the from HealthFirst or click on the download link. Right click on the PolarSync attachment (on a PC) and select Save As and save the file to your hard drive. Once the file has been saved, double click on it. Click Next> for each of the questions on the installation. Once installed, an icon will be put on the desktop of your computer that looks like this. Double click on the icon to start PolarSync.
3 II. Teacher Using PolarSync 1. Start the Polar Sync Program, making sure you are connected to the Internet. 2. Select Teacher and click Next> 3. Select your State 4. Select your School 5. Enter your healthyschools.net Teacher ID and Password and click Next>. Your Teacher ID and Password is the same Teacher ID and Password used for Your computer will remember the state and school the next time you start PolarSync. You will have to login with your Teacher ID and Password. If your computer hangs at this point, your computer is slow in contacting the Internet site. If it hangs for longer than a minute, make sure you are still connected to the Internet.
4 6. Select the Class Period you wish to download Heart Rate data for. 7. Click on the student and click Next> 8. Select the Activity to be associated with the heart rate session. 9. Add any notes if you wish and click Next> Note: The default interface and Heart Rate monitor is the Polar VXL. Other monitors will be available in the future.
5 10. Push the upper right button until the letters MA appear on the watch. 11. Next, press the Set/Start/Stop button on the left side of the watch one time.
6 12. Press the RED Store/Recall button one time and the number of the last file recorded will be displayed. Note: Select and Signal buttons to go between download files. 13. To view the report of the data that was just downloaded, click View Report. To download data for another student, click Next Student and follow the same steps as before. For quickly downloading a class of students, clic k Next Student. You can view and print the reports at a later time.
7 III. Student Using PolarSync The Student Download is exactly like the teacher download, except the student uses their own student ID and Password. When logging in as a student, the student will only be able to see his or her own heart rate information. The heart rate information will be saved for that student to access from the Internet anytime.
8 IV. Guest Using PolarSync When choosing Guest, the use of the program is exactly like the Teacher as in Section I, except the Guest does not have to login. The report is generated after the watch is downloaded, but the data is NOT saved. It is necessary to PRINT the report after the download.
