2 CAUTION: BEFORE INSTALLATION, CONFIRM THAT THE CROSSBOW IS UNLOADED AND IS IN SAFE OPERATING CONDITION. MOUNTING THE SCOPE Position the scope roughly on the optic rail of the crossbow (only gently tightening the hex screws on the side of rings). From a proper shooting position, inspect the eye relief of the scope (to minimize the black ring around the sight image) at both minimum and maximum magnification levels. Reposition as needed. NOTE: The OPTI SPEED has a generous eye relief, and may need to be positioned differently than original factory packaged optics. After the approximate position is established, firmly tighten the mounting screws on the side of the rings. DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN. After the rings are mounted to the rail, slightly loosen the mounting screws on the top of the rings. Ensure that the reticle of the scope is level to the crossbow. At this point you can also finetune the forward/back position of the scope within the rings. Once proper position is achieved, firmly tighten the screws on the top of the rings. DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN. Please note, the Bolt Drop-Compensation feature of this optic is calibrated based on the height of the rings provided, using a significantly different mount may cause different results.

4 ON / OFF / BRIGHTNESS ADJUSTMENT Your OPTI SPEED scope features a glass-etched reticle that can be used with or without illumination. Reticle illumination is intended for low light applications and to provide better contrast when shooting at dark colored targets. Only the fine crosshairs in the center or the reticle will be illuminated. Rotate the brightness dial to turn on the illumination. Continue rotating the dial to adjust the brightness. Always select the lowest brightness setting that still provides good contrast against the target. The higher brightness settings should only be used in bright daylight (otherwise, the reticle may appear distorted). Turn the illumination off (0) after use to prevent battery drain. BATTERY The illumination feature is powered by a single 3-volt CR2032 battery inside of the brightness adjustment dial. To replace the battery, unscrew the battery cover with a coin or large flathead screwdriver. Remove the old battery and replace with a new battery with the + side facing out. Reinstall the battery cover.

5 EYEPIECE (DIOPTER) FOCUSING The purpose of eyepiece focusing is to adjust the scope so that the reticle (crosshairs) appears clear and sharp. If the reticle does not appear sharp, you can adjust it as follows: Point the scope at a bright, clean background (a white sheet of paper, for example). Turn the diopter adjustment ring until the crosshairs are in sharp focus. It may be helpful to look away and check the setting again to as the eye will naturally try to focus on the crosshairs even if the setting is not completely correct. Diopter settings will vary by individual and change with use of corrective lenses. CARE AND MAINTENANCE Occasionally clean the lenses with a soft cloth. Be sure to blow away any dust or grit on the lens prior to wiping the surface (wiping or polishing the lens when dirt or grit is still present may cause scratches). Using the included flip-up scope caps will reduce cleaning frequency and the risk of damage to the lenses. Always make sure the mounting screws are tight before making windage or elevation adjustments. There are no user-serviceable parts inside the scope any disassembly of the scope will void the warranty. Avoid storing the scope in extreme temperatures.

6 ZEROING THE SCOPE INITIAL ZERO Your OPTI CHOICE scope is designed for a 20-yard zero using the central crosshair. None of the other lines need to be referenced to achieve a 20-yard zero. First, set the approximate speed of your crossbow on the speed calibration dial (exact placement is not needed for your 20-yard zero, but this establishes the magnification at which you will be able to use the scope). With your target placed at 20-yards, safely fire a shot. Evaluate the point of impact of the bolt. Unscrew the turret caps and adjust the scope turrets accordingly. Each click of the windage or elevation turret moves the point of impact 1/2-MOA (Minute-of-angle), or approximately 0.10 inches at 20 yards. The direction indicated on the dial is the direction of the point of impact. Using the average of a group of shots (rather than a single shot) may yield a more accurate adjustment. After the 20-yard zero has been established, replace the turret caps. CAUTION: ALWAYS USE EYE PROTECTION. SHOOT ONLY AT AN APPROVED SHOOTING RANGE OR A SUITABLE SAFE AREA. PRACTICE ALL SHOOTING SAFETY RULES AND SAFE HANDLING WHEN SHOOTING A CROSSBOW.

7 ZEROING THE SCOPE DISTANCE SHOOTING Because the 20-yard crosshair is centered in the optic, this point of aim is generally unaffected by magnification adjustment. To shoot accurately at longer distances using the hold-over points in the reticle, you will need to know the speed of your bolt (in feet per second). Adjust the Speed Calibration Dial to match the speed of your bolt. Verify the range of your target, and then use the appropriate hold-over line (labeled 30, 40, 50, 60, 70) for that distance. These ranges are labeled in yards, not meters. When the Speed Calibration Dial is set to the proper position (scaling your target image to your reticle) the trajectory of the bolt will closely match the markings in the optic. Practice responsible hunting! The OPTI CHOICE scope enables long disto shots with your crossbow, but long range shots are not always ethical due to the flight time (in which an animal may move) wind profile, and loss of kinetic energy over distance from crossbow bolts (compared to short-range hunting). Please choose your shots responsibly.

8 USING THE SPEED CALIBRATION DIAL Unlike most rifle scopes, the magnification adjustment on your OPTI SPEED scope is not designed primarily for variable zoom, but for reticle calibration, (the magnification of the scope will depend on your speed setting). This dial calibrates the reticle for bolt speeds ranging from feet per second. Once the proper speed is determined, make a note of this position and leave the optic at this setting (unless you are re-calibrating for a new bolt, broadhead, string, etc.). Rotate the Speed Calibration Dial to match the speed of your bolt. For maximum accuracy use a measurement recorded from a chronograph with your bolt of choice. It is not recommend to use the speed rating provided by the crossbow manufacturer (unless you are shooting the exact same bolt profile). This rating indicates a potential speed of the crossbow, not necessarily the actual speed of your bolt. (Actual speed will vary based on a number of factors, including: bolt weight, length, point weight, fletching type, and even string age). Fortunately, OPTI SPEED allows you to scale the reticle to match your exact setup.

9 WORKING BACKWARDS What if I don t know the speed of my bolt? Many archery ranges have optical chronographs on site, but using a chronograph may not always be possible. Though it requires more time, it is possible to work backwards to determine the proper speed calibration setting. Begin by attaining a precise 20-yard zero. (Covered in the previous ZEROING THE SCOPE INITIAL ZERO section with the Speed Calibration Dial set to 350fps. Without adjusting the dial, move out to 30 yards and fire a bolt, using the 30-yard line in the reticle. WARNING: Be sure to use a large target and backstop to prevent accidentally firing over the target. Be aware of what is beyond your target at all times. If the point of impact (POI) is higher than the point of aim (POA) on your target, then your bolt is traveling faster than 350fps at launch. If the POI is lower than the POA on your target, then your bolt is traveling slower than 350fps at launch. Adjust the Speed Calibration Dial accordingly. Do not make any adjustments to your elevation turret. It is typically safer and more accurate to make small incremental adjustments to the Speed Calibration Dial during this process. After the 30-yard line in the scope is calibrated with the POI at 30 yards, repeat this process at 40-yards using the 40-yard line in the scope reticle. Continue this process as needed. The greater the distance from the initial zero, the better you will be able to fine-tune the dial. To ensure safety and accuracy, (and to prevent the loss of bolts) always start at shorter distances and work up.

10 BDC RETICLE Your scope features a Bolt Drop-Compensating Reticle (BDC) designed to compensate for the effect of gravity upon your bolt through multiple distances. Proper calibration of the reticle (See USING THE SPEED CALIBRATION DIAL section) will scale the target image to the reticle to match the trajectory of your bolt. BDC Reticles can account for gravity, but not other factors such as wind or shooting angle. The BDC is not always an exact aiming solution in all instances, but provides a helpful reference through various distances
