13 Ready to Go On? Enrichment Diophantine Equations Diophantus (about ) is known to some as the father of algebra. He studied primarily the solutions of algebraic equations and the theory of numbers. Enrichment Compound Interest When investing money at a simple interest rate, the interest rate is applied only to the original principal amount in computing the amount of interest.
